To be truly truthful is to reveal the truth at the right time and the right place. When you are speaking the truth check if anyone is hurt or upset. also check if you are yourself feeling comfortable or not while speaking about it. When the truth is told in the right way, it does not cause sorrow to anyone. When you feel that someone needs to be told the truth, make the practice of asking yourself first, 'is it the right time and the right place for this to be told or could there be a better time and place than this.' Your action should be based on this answer.

Message for the day 29-07-2011
The one who considers himself as a server is the one who can remains stable in all situations.
Projection:
In all that we do, if we have the consciousness of being a server i.e., the one who is available for bringing benefit to those around us in one way or the other, we can be stable. When we have this consciousness, we would naturally have no expectations either from people or situations and we will be stable.
Solution:
Each day it is necessary for me to take the thought that each person I meet should take something (even if it is a good wish) from me and no one should go away empty-handed. When I do this, I will be able to be free from expectations and I can naturally be stable.

At Peace with Time . The Key To Relaxed Living (cont.)
You choose whether, each morning, you want to get up and begin with watching television, reading the newspaper, a cigarette and a coffee, or you want to get up and meditate, listen to peaceful music, read a couple of pages of spiritual knowledge that inspire you and you begin the day with enthusiasm and by visualizing it positively: today will be a marvelous day, I shall enjoy it . yes!! Begin the day, early in the morning, at daybreak, with a meditation. Meditation connects you with the eternity of time. It seems as if time were elastic, in such a way that a minute can seem eternal i.e. time seems to come to a standstill (if I am surrounded by a positive set of circumstances which are spiritually uplifting) or can seem an instant, i.e. time passes very fast (if in a negative set of circumstances). Thus, I learn to be a creator of time; living in time without being a slave to it. True freedom lies in being content now. You can be content in the present moment by resolving the inner dialogue that generates stress and conflict in you. When you are content, enjoying yourself and having a good time, you don't realize how time passes. This means that, if we lived in a state of constant happiness, we wouldn't realize how time passes. Time would be at our service. We would be the rulers and controllers of time and not the other way round.

Thought for Today
Effective meditation means to gather the positive resources of the inner self and then use them in the outer world. It is important to remain neither too much inside, nor too much outside, but constantly to create a balance between the inner and outer realities. Meditation resembles the cyclic path of energy: going from the inside out and then from the outside in, gathering information, or experiences that we need to reflect on, or understand better. On other occasions, it may be a question of recharging our minds with positivity and peace: we go inside and, with the practice of silence, the battery becomes re-energized.

Stability comes where there is truth.
Projection:
If we are arguing to prove ourselves right, we are not actually in our stable stage. It is of course necessary to clarify for accuracy, but it is not necessary to argue with stubbornness. If we are arguing, it means we are not convinced about the truth.
Solution:
When involved in an argument with someone, I need to check if I am convinced of the truth of what I am arguing about. If I am sure, then I need to remind myself that I needn't argue because truth will be revealed on its own. This will ensure my stability in that particular situation. Then I can clear things out with a cool mind.

At Peace with Time . The Key To Relaxed Living (cont.)
To live at peace with time is to live it with peace, trust and determination. It is different to living it out of conflict and forcing things. In order to live true freedom of being, we have to make friends with time and stop living stressed in time. We have to trust. Trust that you will arrive on time, that you will do it on time and, if not, that a particular problem will be solved. Don't let time be a stress factor. When we live stressed because of time, we lose the best of life. We stop living what is essential and important, and we get lost in the details: I have to go here, I have to finish this, I have to call up someone, and endless amounts of 'I have tos' that consume our mental energy and make us get lost in the details of the trivial (ordinary). As well, in hurrying, we lose quality. You can do everything, but without losing what is essential; do it with love, with care, with interest, with enthusiasm, with motivation and with focus. That way every small action that you take will have a greater impact, will be more fulfilling and will bear a more positive fruit.

Determination is a combination of single-mindedness and flexibility. When you are determined, you're sure of what you have to achieve and you're able to move in the right direction. And when an obstacle comes your way, you're able to take it in your stride; like a river you can forge your route towards the destination.

To be free from one's own weaknesses means to be stable.
Projection:
When we think of our weaknesses as 'our' nature, we will not be able to overcome them. When there is the feeling of 'mine' there is a feeling of belonging, and naturally we feel a right to use that weakness. When we work with any weakness we will not be able to maintain stability.
Solution:
When I am confronted with my weakness, I need to develop the consciousness that I am the master, this weakness is not mine and I don't come in the influence of that which I have taken on from outside. I need to understand that my nature is not that of weakness, but of strength. Practicing in this way enables me to remain stable in all circumstances.

Not only is your strength reduced by the way that you live the past and project onto the future, but also how you live in this moment. When, for example, you oppose the present and have resistances, these consume your energy and cause you stress. If you accept the present you can flow flexibly without wasting your energy. Accepting does not mean submitting yourself or feeling a victim of what is happening now. From acceptance, you confront and transform. If we learn to live the dimensions of time in a healthy way we will keep up our vitality, we will heal the past and we will feel at peace with it. Accepting the present and trusting in the future helps us to be well.
Accepting the present means stopping comparing yourself with others; you want what the other has, their money, their talents, their beauty, their personality, their achievements, their virtues, etc. So, instead of being grateful for what you have and accepting yourself as you are, you try to have and be like the other. In this way, you are never satisfied. The dissatisfaction causes you a constant unhappiness that reduces your vitality. When you feel happy and satisfied your energy flows more easily. The most important thing that you should do in this moment is to feel content. Next, what is the most important thing? To be content. Therefore, the priority, and what is essential, is that whatever happens in the moment, the most important thing is to be content. So, tell your mind, "Oh, mind, be quiet and don't think so much. Oh, mind, kindly trust that everything is and will be fine." Give your mind the basic instructions and the key thoughts with which to be content. Don't let your own mind create the thoughts that trap you. It is we ourselves who create our emotional cages.

When you renounce desire, you can achieve your fortune. At the end of each day, check if through out the day you had experienced unhappiness. Also check if your unhappiness is because of the desire that you have. Where there is desire there is unhappiness. In order to enjoy what's there in your fortune, each day make the practice firm, 'I get what is right for me according to my fortune. I have no desire because desire only gives me sorrow.

Stability is to remain unshakeable, without any fluctuation in all situations.
Projection:
If we have no stability, even small things begin to upset us. When we have the power of stability, we can be unshakeable in all situations. Stability helps us to be firmly set in our position even in opposition i.e., even in unfavourable situations.
Solution:
When things are not going very smooth, it is necessary to remind myself that nothing is permanent. When I have the faith that things will surely change, I will be able to maintain my stability in all situations.

At Peace with Time . The Key To Relaxed Living
To live in freedom you have to live at peace (harmony) with time; live the dimension of time as a creator of time and not a slave of time; live without being either a prisoner or victim of time. To live at peace with time is to live in harmony with nature, beginning with your inner nature. When you plant a sapling today, you cannot accelerate the process so that the next day you have a tree. When it is summer, you cannot make the earth revolve around the sun quicker or slower for winter to arrive before or later. Everything has its rhythm in nature. We have distanced ourselves from the natural rhythm and our accelerated mind exercises pressure, creates stress and causes anxiety. We plan the future, we are stuck in the past and the present escapes us.
Many worries have to do with how we live time: the past, the present and the future. Worrying about what might happen (future), when the moment has not yet come for it to happen, takes away from us the necessary energy to deal with it when it finally arrives. Living in memories drains our energy; the past already happened and no longer exists, except in our memory. We feed memories, not realizing that emerging the memory in our mind distracts us from the present and weakens us. It is like being a plug that connects to a socket with no current passing through. We lose our energy. We want to relive an experience that already happened, and in the end we feel disappointed, feeling a mental and emotional waste.

The one who has the consciousness of being the ruler of his own thoughts is the one who is fortunate. When others say anything negative to you, check if you are being influenced by their thoughts, which make you think negative too or if you are able to guide your thoughts as you wish. Each day begin your day with the practice, "I am the ruler of my thoughts and it is me who is in control of my thoughts and no one else." Also remind yourself of this thought and you can see the picture of your fortune in the mirror of your life.

Stress Management
There are some false beliefs about stress that we have acquired:
"Stress can only be treated by a doctor"
Truth: If you have some serious physical discomfort then perhaps it's time for a visit to the doctor. But unless you change your thoughts and feelings the pain won't go away forever. Medicines are irrelevant to the task of putting positive power into what you think and feel. So perhaps it's time to be your own doctor, take your own pulse, feel your own feelings and diagnose your own state of being. Only then will you be naturally interested in the 'inner' remedies, treatments and methods to help free yourself of the pain we call stress, and only then will you return to optimum mental and emotional health. The treatments for your head and heart are a lot different from those for your body. When you truly, deeply realize that all your stress begins with your own thoughts and emotions, and that you are the only one responsible, only then will meditation, visualization and positive thinking suddenly arouse your curiosity.

If we are stuck or trapped in our own thoughts we will not have control over them. When we observe them, we separate ourselves from them and we provide a space, and this is how we can control them and channel them in the direction we wish. In order to have control over something we must look at it from a certain distance, like an impartial observer. This practice helps us to realise the influences, both positive and negative, that there are in our life. Observing our thoughts (which we do in the process of meditation) is the first step in understanding and, in the last analysis, taking full responsibility for them.

Projection:
Humility gives wings to fly. It gives enthusiasm based on inner truth and we can easily move forward. When there is no humility we find ourselves being pulled back again and again by the difficult situations that we ourselves have created.
Solution:
When I do something, I first have to ensure that I am enjoying it and keep reminding myself of the joy that I am deriving out of it. Then I am free from the desire for recognition or praise. Then I will find myself succeeding in the task that I undertake and I will be appreciated too.

Raj Yoga - The Ancient Yoga Of India Taught By The Brahma Kumaris
The Brahma Kumaris teaches the original and ancient system of yoga - Raja Yoga. "Yoga" generally refers to some physical postures or breathing exercises but its deepest definition is "the mental union or link between the individual soul and the Supreme Being, or God."
"Raja" means "king", so "Raja Yoga" can be understood in various ways:
. the King of Yogas or the Royal Yoga.
. the yoga through which the soul becomes a ruler of its mind, intellect and personality, thereby ruling the sense organs of the body and being in complete control of any situation.
Raja Yoga was first taught 5,000 years ago in India but as time went by the original spiritual methods and principles which kept souls in union with the Supreme Soul were hidden by other practices, and the aim of complete perfection of the human being was kept aside as un-attainable. Recently however, those original methods of how to connect with the Supreme Soul through thoughts (meditation) have been revealed again, making the spiritual effort towards complete self-transformation easy and natural. To make the meditation more meaningful a lot of knowledge is also given by the Brahma Kumaris - who we are, where we are from, where we're going, who God is, what His role is and how to develop a relationship with Him so that peace, love, wisdom and bliss flow into the soul, restoring it to its rightful original stage. Understanding all these points helps us to stabilize ourselves in such a state of self-confidence that not only does our own life take on a completely new and marvelous color, but we find ourselves able to inspire many others to take up the challenge of creating a new world on the basis of self-change.

Where there is humility, there is benefit to many.
Projection:
Just as the tree laden with fruit bows down, the one who is full is the one who is humble. Such a person can bring benefit to all those around. Humility makes us a giver in all situations, also making it easy for others to take what we have to offer.
Solution:
In all my interactions with others, It is more important to see what I can give them, instead of just expecting from them. Then, even when I have to follow others' directions there would be no difficulty. Humility helps me to bow very easily.

Positive Thinking
The sun is a suitable image for positive thinking. The visualization described below uses a sunlit landscape as a comparison for the four levels of thoughts we create (positive, necessary, waste and negative). It can be used to increase your percentage of positive thoughts everyday.
1. Visualize a beautiful valley with a lake, forested foothills and high mountains rising up into the clouds. This is the landscape of your mind.
2. Your position in this landscape and the form in which you are displayed depends on the quality of your thoughts. Are you a fish swimming in the muddy depths of the lake (negative thoughts)? Are you a frog jumping back and forth from the shore to the lake (wasteful thoughts)? A human, wandering into the forest to gather food and build a shelter (necessary thoughts)? Or the sun, which sustains (nourishes) all life on earth (positive thoughts)?

Humility comes from an open and clean heart.
Projection:
Humility needs a good home to dwell in. When the mind is filled with negative feelings or biased ideas towards anyone, we cannot use humility. So we need to fill our mind with positive thoughts towards everyone.
Solution:
If I have negative thoughts towards anyone, I need to make an attempt to remove them. I need to tell myself that what I don't like about a person is just one particular aspect and not the person himself. In this way I will be able to change my own attitude and also will help the other person also to bring about change.

God.s Three Roles In The World Drama (cont.)
God As A Destroyer
There are many mythological stories all over the world about a revengeful God, destroying whole armies who dared to stand in the way of His chosen ones. The .Mahabharata. in India depicts the same, where Lord Krishna helped the .Pandavas. defeat the .Kauravas., because .Pandavas. had love, devotion and respect for Lord Krishna and .Kauravas. did not. We have even gone to war, praising the righteousness of our causes and counting on God's support. Somehow the heart rejects the idea of a violent God who is a destroyer of life. He is the destroyer of evil (and not of life) and the creator of virtue.
The story of the .Mahabharata. is obviously symbolic. It can be applied to the present moment in the World Drama, when the Supreme Father, the Incorporeal (non-physical) Father is with us and is helping us in our war. Our war is not a physical one, our enemies our not our brothers, but our own weaknesses. The weapons (.shastras.), which are shown in the .Mahabharata. in the physical form, are actually the weapons of knowledge and spiritual power acquired through meditation; with which we are able to bring down our enemies, our vices and shortcomings e.g. the discus (.chakra.) has a spiritual significance. It is shown in a physical form but is actually a discus of self-realization (.swadarshan chakra.). .Swa. + .darshan. means self-realization. Self-realization is achieved when one receives spiritual knowledge. The Supreme Father possesses this discus, which he gives to us, along with other weapons (.shastras.). We, the chosen ones, the true followers of God, make our path easier for us through His powerful guidance. We leave suffering behind and make the journey to the other side - to a promised elevated world. Our former captors (those who had imprisoned us), our weaknesses, try to follow us in the elevated future but are destroyed completely with God's help.

Thought for Today
Do you mentally keep a note of others' weaknesses and flaws? Does it become the basis on how you relate to them?
How about giving this a try: Realise that if you keep others' weaknesses in your mind, those weaknesses soon become part of you. Recognise that all humans, despite their flaws have an innate goodness within them. Decide to see the best and draw the best out of others. Re-contextualise the other person by mentally noting at least one of their good qualities.

Message for the day 21-07-2011
Humility enables people to realize their mistakes and correct themselves.
Projection:
Real humility results in so much power of truth that we don't need to say anything at all in words. The very power of our inner state of being will make the other person realize the error of their ways.
Solution:
While giving directions or corrections to someone, I need to check my own attitude, reminding myself of the humility within and only then say what I have to say. With humility my words will be for their benefit and this will enable them to learn.

God As A Sustainer
We need to understand God.s role clearly as a sustainer. We have to understand the difference between physical and spiritual sustenance. We may think that God is the sustainer in the sense that He gives us our goods, wealth, health, food, water, air and so on. If that were so, why should He give more of these things to some and not to others? Why do poverty, starvation and disease exist if God is a sustainer and provider of all in the physical sense?
Whatever I do or do not possess I have earned for myself. It is not God who pays us our salaries. Whatever fruits I earn are the results of my own efforts. As a spiritual sustainer, He fills us with His power and virtues like peace, bliss, purity and happiness. He also shares with us spiritual knowledge and bestows his love and blessings on us, all of which help us in our spiritual effort, so that we can transform (change) ourselves and does not provide us with food and wealth.

Thought for Today
Swing in the swing of happiness and all labouring will finish. In all that you do throughout the day, check if you are enjoying each and everything that you are doing. If you do find anything difficult, check if it is because of your own thinking or if the thing is really difficult. Each morning take a thought, 'I will do my best in all that I do and I will enjoy each and everything that the day demands of me. Today nothing is difficult for me.' Practice in this way and all difficulties will finish.

True humility comes from self-respect.
Projection:
When we are full and in our state of self-respect, we will be able to remain humble in all situations. When there is no self-respect, any comments or criticism hurts the ego and we tend to lose our humility.
Solution:
When I find myself getting affected by criticism, I need to check whether I am sure of what I'm doing. Let me look within myself and see what specialties I have that I can use in my daily life. So when I increase my own confidence in this way and do everything with this confidence, I'll be humble.

God.s Three Roles In The World Drama
God As A Creator
Logic tells us that spiritual and material energy in the form of souls and matter didn't just suddenly appear out of nothing. The First Law of Thermodynamics states that energy can't be either created or destroyed. Matter itself is a form of condensed energy. Souls are also conscious points of energy. Both are uncreated and therefore eternal. The Second Law shows us that energy, when in use, moves from a potential state, in which energy is available, to a spent state in which it is no longer available. Putting both laws together we have what appears to be a system in which the basic components have neither beginning nor end. They move towards a state of energy exhaustion (entropy). If time were linear (a straight line) and there were no external intervention, then over an unimaginably long period of time the universe would just fizzle out.
Fortunately for both the souls and the elements of matter, there is one supreme energy source which is external to the process of entropy (unaffected by the process) and thereby retains its original potency or power. When things reach a certain stage of weakness and chaos, the Supreme Soul plays out His role of re-energizing the souls. The recuperation (recovery) to their original state, in turn, has a direct effect on matter. It also comes back to its own original state of perfection. If, as has been shown above, God's presence, power and knowledge are purely spiritual, then creation has to be a spiritual act and not a physical one. Creation can be understood as the regeneration or reshaping of what is already there and not one of creating something physical or non-physical out of nothing. God recharges the souls' spent spiritual energy.

The way to become victorious is to face and overcome obstacles. Throughout the day you would surely be coming across many situations where you have to face obstacles. Check your thoughts at that time. Is there a wish for the obstacle not to have come at all? If there are any such thoughts you will never be victorious. Take a thought in the morning, 'I am ready to face all the situations that the day brings even if they seem like obstacles. It is the duty of obstacles to come and it is my duty to become victorious. And if the obstacle never comes I can never call myself victorious.'

To see good is the easy way to become good. In all the people that you are coming into contact with check to what extent you are able to see the good in them. Also check if you are able to see good in the situations too. Each day tell yourself that you are only going to see the good in people and situations, because the more you see good, you can become good too. Even when you find yourself seeing negativity, remind yourself of this thought and change your way of thinking.

The Search For Happiness And A Perfect Relationship
Throughout history, human beings have desired and searched for two things, happiness and a perfect relationship. There is an old truth, ''You cannot search for what, you have not already had or known." In other words, our search is motivated by a deep subconscious memory of the original, perfect and eternal relationship with our Friend, Guide and Parent, the One remembered as God, Allah, Ishwar, Jehovah, etc. It is only when our relationship with this Being is restored that we can experience true happiness or bliss. Bliss is the deepest spiritual happiness we can experience. It is experienced only when we are free of all attachment, when we no longer misidentify with anything physical and when our inner mental state is not dependent on anything or anyone.
At its highest level, our relationship with God is pure and non-dependent, and therefore blissful. Deep within the soul, there is a memory of the bliss of this perfect union and it is the deepest motivation in our search for the perfect relationship, for the perfect happiness. However, instead of seeking at the level of spirit, we seek at the level of mind (personality) and body. We search in those around us for the perfect partner - our soul mate. It is not incorrect to have worldly relationships, but there needs to be a deep realization inside each one of us that our true soul mate, is the One with whom we can have an ever-lasting, eternal relationship, the One with whom we have the deepest eternal bond (over a period of many births), the One from whom we will experience everlasting, eternal, unconditional attainments.

Thought for Today
Most of us think too much, especially about events and people, local and global, famous and not so famous. When we are always thinking about what is happening on the surface of life, the visible, then it is as if we are living a superficial life. Deep down inside there is a voice, a longing, a calling to depth. It's our heart, reminding us to visit, explore and express the depths of our ourselves. Going deep and being deep requires time spent in solitude, some periods of introversion and a conversation with ourselves. How on earth will we ever see what is in our heart unless we dive deep inside, switch on the light and look. Those who do will tell you it changes everything. What do they see? Simple, only beauty and truth. They are always there, waiting for us to return. Waiting to welcome us and to introduce ourselves to ourself.

The Thought-Destiny Cycle
The process by which we create our own destiny is quite easy to see in theory; however it requires some checking to see how it matches the reality of our practical lives. Here is the process in brief:
• As our intentions, so will be our thoughts.
• As our thoughts, so will be our feelings.
• As our feelings, so will be our attitudes.
• As ourattitudes, so will be our actions.
• As our actions, so will be our habits.
• As our habits, so will be our personality.
As our personality in all our relationships on our journey through life, so will be our destiny. So watch your thoughts! Be aware of your intentions!
Our intentions are based on our beliefs about who we are, where we are and why we are here. If we believe we are the physical form, our belief will we be that we need to survive as long as possible. This leads to the intention to get what we think we need before others, which leads to competition, which leads to feelings of fear. Our destiny gets shaped accordingly. When you know you are the non-physical and immortal (which is neither created nor can be destroyed) energy, a soul, then survival is no longer an issue and your intention is one to include, connect and co-operate with and enlighten others. The service of others at a spiritual level becomes the highest intention in action. It is fully free from fear and can be seen as an act of love. This is why competition and authentic spirituality can never be found together.

Anger Management And Prevention
As you increase your self-awareness, you will also see how your anger begins with a moment of irritation towards a person or situation. If you then give attention to that irritation by replaying or revising the event in your mind, which is like giving water to a plant, it will grow into frustration. And if you water the frustration, it will grow into anger, which, in turn, will develop into rage.
Don't suppress and don't express your anger. What's left? Transform (change). The transformation of anger requires you to realize the root cause of your emotional pain. The realization comes by understanding deeply the self or the soul. When you see the cause it gives you a choice a) to stop creating it or b) continue creating it. Unfortunately, although many see why they cause their own anger and acknowledge responsibility for their creation, they continue to keep getting angry. They find many ways of justifying their anger. They have an 'anger addiction'. They are angerholics.
Are you ready to see the root cause? Do you want to make new choices? Isn’t it time to break your emotional addiction?

As you increase your self-awareness, you will also see how your anger begins with a moment of irritation towards a person or situation. If you then give attention to that irritation by replaying or revising the event in your mind, which is like giving water to a plant, it will grow into frustration. And if you water the frustration, it will grow into anger, which, in turn, will develop into rage.
Don't suppress and don't express your anger. What's left? Transform (change). The transformation of anger requires you to realize the root cause of your emotional pain. Thought for Today
All problems can be overcome when you make a determined promise to yourself. When a problem comes up and you are working on it, check what kind of thoughts you are having. Check if your thought to overcome the problem is filled with determination? Each day reinforce the thought in your mind to overcome the problem that you are facing. Stamp the thought with determination and you will become victorious in overcoming your problem.

Message for the day 13-07-2011
The one who has respect for the self is the one who gets respect from others.
Projection:
Every human being has innate worth which is pure and virtuous. Faith in the self brings out the potential within and this brings respect for the self. Self-respect makes us self-reliant and brings respect from others.
Solution:
In order to get respect from others, I need to increase my own self-respect. For this, all I need to do is find something unique in myself and each morning remind myself of this speciality. Also let me make sure I work at least once with this speciality throughout the day.

Understanding God’s Role In The World Drama Clearly (cont.)
There are certain unchangeable laws which govern the interplay of the soul, God and nature. God will not infringe those laws. He will not grant favors to some and not to others. Nor will He remove sin unless the devotee himself begins to make the efforts necessary. He is immune to both praise and insult.
God's greatness lies not in the ability to interfere with events when He chooses. It lies in the fact that He alone is the only one in the universe who abides by these laws perfectly and forever. His might is purely spiritual. The Supreme Father, Supreme Soul, uses His power for the benefit of the world. He uses His qualities to transform it when it reaches extreme degradation. Human souls enter the world and little by little, through birth and rebirth, lose some of their original powers through the contact with and influence of matter. Because of losing their qualities, matter starts to "dominate" and defects and weaknesses appear in the soul, causing one to depend more and more on "body-consciousness." Values change, virtues change into vices and the spiritual, and consequently physical, atmospheres become darker. In this kind of dark atmosphere, we rightly believe that God, who is the Almighty, is the one who can teach us the perfect laws of living, who can empower and purify us through spiritual knowledge and meditation and as a result help set things right.

Thought for Today
To overcome a negative habit, we have to ensure that the intellect is strong and stable enough to lead the mind with knowledge and comprehension. In this way, transformation is more deep and lasting, creates satisfaction and fullness, and greatly improves our self-esteem.
Our mind must be left in no doubt that "I", the original personality, no longer wants to go down that old road. We must have the strong determination to create a new thought pattern; this will also be recorded on our memory bank. This new register will help us to avoid taking up the old habits the next time something similar happens. For a period of time the two thought patterns, the old and the new, will exist alongside each other.
To achieve a long-lasting transformation, we should not suppress our mind and immediately eliminate all the habits or tendencies to which the mind has become accustomed to. If we do this, the mind will begin to cry and make a fuss, and finally, the moment we lower our guard and stop paying attention, the old habits will emerge again and drag our mind towards automatic thoughts and actions so that, almost without us realising, we are once again immersed in our old way of thinking and doing.
We have an alternative: creating thoughts of a greater quality that emerge from a new conscience. In this way, thanks to these positive thoughts, full of love, harmony and creativity, the mind will start to cleanse itself, replacing the old habits and negative tendencies in a totally natural way.
The positive thought that preceded the positive action is still conscious, but the more we repeat the positive action the less conscious we are of the thought that created it. The time comes when we don't know why we are doing whatever we are doing: it has become a positive habit.

Respect is to recognize and appreciate the unique role of each and everyone.
Projection:
Each one is unique with his own specialities. When we recognize the role of each one, we can understand that he is playing his part accurately. Then we can acknowledge even the smallest contribution and we'll be free from expectations.
Solution:
When I have negative thoughts towards any one, I need to make the practice of looking at one speciality in that person and relate to it. Also let me tell myself that without the role of this particular person the drama of my life would not be complete.

Understanding God’s Role In The World Drama Clearly (cont.)
God has no direct influence on nature. It is not He causes the change of seasons, kills or grants babies, makes airplanes crash, causes earthquakes, floods and terrorist attacks. This is the play between human souls and matter directly. The laws of nature are not the laws of God. The laws that human beings are following at this moment are not the laws of God. He teaches us His laws – the perfect laws of living; we learn them and make our lives perfect –as a result of which the world remains in a perfect state full of peace, love and happiness for some time. But then we forget the same laws and the world falls down to an imperfect state, devoid (without) of the virtues mentioned above.
God has been considered to be so great, so beyond understanding, and some convenient automatic phrases have developed: "It is the will of God... everything is the will of God", or ''I'll be here next week, God willing." How can one say: "God is beyond understanding", and also say what His will is? If God is an ocean of love, surely His will is the reflection of that love. It is not His will to kill people, nor is it His power to bring them back to life. It is not He who makes the grass grow and the wind blow. It is not He who is the energy that binds the atoms together. It is not He who gives us our roles. It is because we have misunderstood His almighty nature that we seek His favour in the churches and temples: "Grant us this ....", "God forgive me..." and so on. Though we flatter Him to give us this and that, when something goes wrong, or a relative dies, He is the one who is blamed, "It is the will of God" – we feel and speak.

Thought for Today
Every baby has some tendency or another from the moment of birth, tendencies formed by past thoughts and actions. The soul does not inherit tendencies genetically. All that is transferred genetically is the physical appearance, the colour of eyes, shape of nose etc. There is a certain amount of influence acquired in the new situation, e.g. for a child we might say - "He has his father's bad temper". The fact that the soul was born into that family to payoff its accounts one way or the other, indicates that the soul has performed similar actions in a previous birth. That someone has a fear of heights, someone else a fear of being enclosed, indicates that they had suffered from similar experiences in a previous birth. The soul's desire for peace and happiness may be termed as "instinctive" but is certainly not biological.

To become an embodiment of solutions is to be able to stay in constant peace.
Projection:
Situations do bring a lot of challenges for us, but where there is fear or worry while facing them, there cannot be peace. As long as we continue looking at the problem instead of searching for solutions we cannot remain in peace.
Solution:
Let me think of something that I consider as a problem, something about which I am thinking a lot. Now let me see if I can find a solution for it. If I feel I cannot, it is better to leave thinking about it rather than to worry about it. When I keep the mind free in this way, I will get the solutions automatically.

Understanding The Difference Between ‘Hatha Yoga’ and ‘Raj Yoga’
‘Hatha yoga’ uses force and discipline in an attempt to unify the energies of the body with those of the consciousness. Through physical postures and breathing exercises, which are sometimes quite difficult, through ‘hath yoga’ one is able to achieve considerable control over the body metabolism and attain a remarkable level of physical health - that is beyond doubt, and to a limited extent bring about spiritual benefit. If the soul is able to achieve that posture mentally, as done by a ‘Raja Yogi’ (one who practices ‘Rajyoga’ med itation as taught by the Brahma Kumaris), then sitting the body in a certain position to achieve the same becomes less important. In fact, with practice the soul is able to adopt a mental posture according to whatever situation it finds itself in.
Perhaps the most famous posture of all is the "padmasana" or lotus posture. ‘Raja Yogis’ put themselves in the "padmasana" mentally. Besides, when the soul is fixed in the loveful union with God, the physical posture is not so important. “Padam” in English refers to the lotus flower and is a symbol of detachment. Just as the roots of the lotus grow in the bed of the pond but the flower is a thing of radiance and beauty, floating on the water untouched by the mud and slush, the ‘Raja Yogis’ live in the world but beyond it. Even though their "roots" are in the muck of society, they maintain a mental posture of detachment and mental purity. Living in the thick of things, they remain pure observers and a source of beauty and radiance for others. Those who concentrate only on ‘Hatha Yoga’ believe that by first disciplining the body, they will be sufficiently relaxed and controlled to undertake the practice of meditation. ‘Raja Yogis’ on the other hand are able to easily enter the state of meditation with the thought, "I am a peaceful soul, the child of the Supreme Soul, the Ocean of Peace", which makes the attempt to reach self-realization by performing physical exercises less important – especially for spiritual upliftment. Furthermore, ‘Raja Yoga’ can be practiced by anyone of any age or physical state because all that is required is the subtle power of thought. This is a clear contrast in the approach of ‘Raja Yoga’.

Be free from desire and you'll be free from anger too. When the ideas that you have offered are being rejected, check what kind of feelings you are having. Is there any irritation or anger? Where there is either of these it indicates that there is a desire for what you have said to be fulfilled. When you are giving your ideas, just tell yourself that your idea is just for the good of all, if it is accepted by all it's good. Even if it isn't it is nothing to get upset about. When there is no consciousness of 'it has to happen', you'll find yourself free from anger.

The power of silence can bring peace to any situation.
Projection:
The instruments for the power of silence are pure thoughts and pure feelings. We can give others an experience with the power of our silence. When we understand and experience the power of silence we will become more powerful. We will then be able to experience peace that will naturally spread to others too.
Solution:
When I have to correct someone in any situation I first need to remind myself that words will not work but silence based on pure feelings and love will surely work. When I accept the person as he is with love I will be able to bring about a change in him. The lesser I talk the more the peace that is created.

Stepping Inside … (cont.)
When we learn to become silent we become more compassionate (generous) in our outlook and start accepting others for who they are.
The more we are able to accept, the sooner we find that there is harmony (peacefulness) in our relationships. We start saving energy, sparing or reducing our thoughts and our words. This is accompanied by more patience, tolerance, flexibility, easiness and lightness. Silence teaches us the art of living. Silence can be misused to isolate oneself and go into loneliness, but true, positive silence gives us a balance between our inner and outer worlds. Having explored our inner self we collect our positive energy, become aware of our qualities, and then very naturally these are expressed externally. We move our concentration to the inner self and then to the external world. Then we go inwards again. It is a circular movement. As we go into silence, we recharge our inner energies, become one with the self, heal our self, relax and release our self from negativity. There are so many benefits by simply stepping inside to meet our true self. As we draw out our internal riches and resources, what do we do with them? We share them and give them out and in doing this we receive and we learn.

The more the thoughts we have, the lesser the peace that is experienced in the mind. When we are able to maintain a powerful thought throughout the day whatever the situations come our way we can experience constant peace.

Stepping Inside …
One aspect of meditation is that it teaches us to face life from the inside.
It takes us to that point of stillness where we find the strength to change and heal the inner self. In that silence, we are able to find perspective and insight. In a deep state of introspection, we clearly observe our thoughts, seeing our true motives and intentions behind our words and actions; when we understand that our intentions are perhaps not quite right, then we are in a position to say to ourselves, 'Hold on a minute!' When we use silence to check our thoughts at that level, then we begin to realize that many of the things we are thinking about are not really worth thinking about. At this point, we become spiritually economical, which in fact leads us to becoming very generous. A lot of precious energy is lost, both mentally and emotionally, on wasteful and negative thinking. Ninety-five percent of our time is wasted on thinking about others; we go on and on with a string of expectations from others, which becomes like a hammer of demand on other people's heads. Take a combination of expectations and demand, and what does it equal? Conflict!
When we learn to become silent and to reflect on our inner self, we start feeling satisfied with what we find inside, expectations from others gradually come down and there is a deep sense of contentment.

Instead of waiting for things to change, you create a stage that will help change things. Check if you are using words like, 'when things change for the better, I'll change too... I am just waiting for the things to get better...' If you are using such words, it means you are letting the situation control you. Each day tell yourself, 'I have full control of the situations around me. It is when I change that things around me will change too and I definitely have the power to change things around me.'

Projection:
The more respect is measured on the basis of something external, the greater the desire for recognition from others. The greater the desire, the more one falls victim to ego and there cannot be humility.
Solution:
I need to start the day with a thought that brings self-respect. I need to tell myself that I am special and also use this speciality throughout the day. I will then not dominate or limit the freedom of anyone but will naturally work with humility.

When someone brings their opinions and beliefs to a conversation, armed and ready for battle, it's easy to disarm them. All you have to say is, "That's an interesting way to see it.

To rise from the ashes: learn from failure and bounce back stronger. Strong enough to remain focused on success, despite setbacks. Handle setbacks by seeing them for what they are; temporary setbacks, not the end of the world!

Instead of contemplating on others, spend time in self-contemplation and you'll find yourself progressing. In all that you do throughout the day check how much time you are spending in thinking about others and what they are doing. Also check how much time you are being introspective and spending time with yourself. When you find yourself blaming or criticizing others' way of working, turn your thoughts towards yourself and change your thinking at that moment. The more you think about yourself, you will find yourself progressing.

The one who is truly happy knows the importance of taking happiness as much as he knows how to give happiness to others.
Projection:
In order to be fully happy, it is important not to take sorrow from situations or people. Usually we pay attention not to give sorrow but it is now equally important to just take happiness from whatever happens.

Understanding God’s Role In The World Drama Clearly
All those who accept the reality of God believe that He is all powerful. It is believed He can do anything and everything, that He is some sort of invisible magician who first of all created this vast universe from nothing, and continues to manipulate its workings whenever He chooses. It is thought that all that has been, is and will be is created and controlled by God. Some go so far as to say that the total cosmos is the mind of God. This has been a constant point of dispute.
Firstly, there are three distinct and eternal entities, each having its own powers and functions. There is God, there are souls and there is matter, or nature, together producing the scenes of creation.
Secondly, there are two fields of existence: the physical and the metaphysical. Both fields act, react and interact to produce this incredible, universal drama of which we are all a part, including God. Fundamentally, on the physical level there is the interaction between souls and matter which produces all phenomena. On the metaphysical level there is the interaction between souls and God, the remembering and forgetting of Him, which gives the interesting plots and by-plots to the movement of events that we call world history.
Thirdly, ‘eternal’ (mentioned above) means that God neither created Himself, nor human souls, nor matter. When we deeply understand the law of ‘karma’ or the law cause and effect which in short means that every soul has to be bear the fruit for each action committed by it (whether good or bad), we can see the impossibility of God being the literal physical Creator of this world and human beings.

Remember who you are. A human being. Not a human doing. You are not what you do. You are a being of peace, love and happiness. When you allow yourself to be - you become centred, grounded and focused. Then, you're able to bring your 'being' into 'doing'.

Happiness is earned by those whose actions and attitudes are pure and selfless.
Projection:
When the actions are pure and selfless there is no trace of negativity. Where there is no negativity, the mind becomes free from feelings of guilt, fear etc. This automatically ensures constant happiness.
Solution:
If there is no happiness, there is definitely some kind of negativity. So check the actions that you perform. Let them be not only for your benefit but also for the benefit of all and you will find that you are able to be in constant happiness.

Freeing Oneself from Hatred (cont.)
To free yourself from hatred, you will have to take four important steps:
1. Understand that hate is not healthy. When you have a feeling of loss you feel sad. This feeling of sadness, because of the situation, generally gets created inside you before the feeling of hate, anger or frustration. Understand your emotions by observing them closely.
2. Accept that you are responsible for your own rage.
3. The other is free to act as they like, you can't change them, but you can improve your response.
4. Be prepared to observe, challenge and change the beliefs and perceptions that you base yourself on and that create your emotional pain. Some of these beliefs give force to your rage and block your learning. For example, when you think that it is good that you are angry, the belief is that to feel rage is the natural and normal reaction amidst certain situations. Another belief is that anger causes the adrenaline to flow in you and you consider that it is a healthy addiction, that it makes you feel 'alive', that having sudden surges of adrenaline makes you feel energetic and strong. You use any excuse to feel bad and, thanks to that excuse, your level of adrenaline rises!
Emotional suffering indicates to you that you have to change something in you, but you don't change anything. You ignore the messenger and the stress that you create continues to grow. Finally, it turns into such a habit that, if you relax and 'de-stress', you feel uncomfortable! You have got used to your stress.
Become aware of the need for you to evaluate your beliefs and their impact on your life. That way you will be more prepared to change and improve your habits. This is the first step to achieving it.

True happiness doesn't come from external things or people but from within.
Projection:
As long as we depend for our happiness on external sources, there is every chance that we are disappointed. True happiness is that which comes from within. It is to enjoy and cherish each moment. When we do this our happiness spreads to others too.
Solution:
Let me take this thought today to smile at everyone and everything that comes my way. When I believe I am happy I will be able to take even the negative things in the most positive way.

Take a moment to reflect upon the last time that you hated someone. It might be difficult to see that your rage is created by no one but yourself. Although it 'seems' that the behaviour of the other person is responsible for your emotional state, the truth is that the hate is your reaction. Each response that you create might be a conscious choice. You forget that you have the choice because it seems that the hate comes out of your inside in a natural way. In reality, you are allowing yourself to act driven by your automatic pilot, where your subconscious habits, which are based on your beliefs and your perception, influence, shape and control your conscious thoughts and actions. That is the sign of mental and emotional laziness; in that state, your intelligence 'sleeps' and it is impossible to think with clarity and take precise decisions.
It is said, "It is impossible to get angry and to laugh at the same time," Rage and laughter cannot exist side by side and you have the sufficient power to choose either of the two. Each time that you choose to get angry due to the behaviour of another person, you are depriving them of their right to be what they choose.
