Outward focusing is a habit of 'busy eyes'. Busy eyes
keep our minds busy with thoughts and images from 'out there'.
This is of course a necessary part of life but if it becomes
a habit, we can't switch off. This is why, at the end of the day, both eyes and minds are tired.
We can avoid tiredness by taking a break in our busy day
for a few minutes to refresh our eyes and mind. We can: drink water, stretch, step outside into the fresh air. Or just sit back, do nothing and be utterly tranquil.
