Anger Management And Prevention
You may believe in something called 'righteous (allowable) anger'. In other words, an anger which is justified according to your judgment, an anger that is justified because you are right and punishment should be given to those who have done wrong. Then we might ask that old but suitable question, "Did God give you permission to control the universe?” For that is what you are attempting to do when you become righteously angry towards others. This kills your effectiveness, as it damages your ability to assist those who are suffering because you are suffering yourself. This is like someone who is drunk trying to help someone else who is drunk. Your emotional disturbance destroys your ability to communicate with and positively influence those around you. But most of all, you are doing what you don’t want others to do. In that moment you are being double-faced. But your anger won't let you see it. Your so-called 'righteous (allowable) anger' also destroys your capacity to understand and feel for others and be merciful - two of the most powerful forms of the quality of love that always exists within the depth of your heart - and that is what both parties – you and the other - are in need of. Why? Because it's obvious that both are in serious pain.
