Soul Sustenance

A New Journey With A New Personality (cont.)

Famous personalities are constantly sought after, in demand and remembered by many due to their specialties, may they be actors, gurus, sportsmen, politicians, founders of religions etc. Even in our daily lives, we tend to remember people with more specialties much more than the rest. God is the most complete and perfect personality that exists, but not a physical personality, a spiritual one. There is no one who is more specialty and virtue-filled than him. That is the reason he is an entity or living energy or personality who is remembered the most by each and everyone all over the world.

The above types of personalities mentioned are physical personalities and are remembered by some or many but not remembered by the rest and along with their specialties, they definitely have shortcomings. Also, you might find it difficult getting to meet them even for a few minutes. God is one personality without any weaknesses and he is my constant friend, once I start my journey. He is one who, although being the highest personality, can be available to thousands making a similar journey at the same time, not because he is omnipresent (present everywhere) but because he is omnipotent (the most powerful) and the only being possessing this capability. So, a specialty of this journey is that the more I progress on it and the more time I spend with this new personality accompanying me in my new journey, I constantly see new facets of this new personality being revealed in my life, which keeps the journey constantly refreshing. This also keeps me wondering what is going to be revealed next. So, once this journey of exploration and discovery has started, there's no reason to stop even for a second and there is immense amount of motivation to continue and keep smiling!

  1. In http://dailydivinethoughts.blogspot.in/ (2/6/12) it is suggested that God is remembered most by us (compared to any one else) as he is most virtuous. After seeing news channels in morning, if I say this I must be in a fools's paradise.
(1)Take latest Radhe, Nirmal Baba .Take a temple shown thronged by thousands every day. Each has only selling point: devotees get their wish satisfied.
    (2) Why do devotees gift collectively thousands of crores of wealth to temple? Due to virtuous God? If they did not expect any thing in return, they would have donated to hospitals, orphanages....
(3)If a person does what God does, can we call him virtuous? Thus in name of usherin in change what if he flattens populated towns by a bull dozer? Or punishes people for their crime after giving them amnesia injection? Or abandons his wife though she proves her innocence? Or kills all life iin a region so that his secret is not leaked out? Or breaks the promise of coming to help the oppressed? If virtue is worshipped, there would have been temples of Gandhiji.
(4)Even those who do meditation do so for inner peace, bliss- something that can be got independent of virtues of God. They are recreating image that is there in the conscious mind.
(5)For many old people reciting God's name keeps them off the misery. There is precious little they can do except reciting God's name. I pity them for their helplessness.
Of course there are pure devotees. I feel they are in microscopic minority. I shall be happy to be wrong though.
Let us accept God as He is rather that devising some bizarre theories that are designed to suppress the obvious. Probably by being truthful rather than overtly imaginative one can be closer to God. If we picture God as an honest minister who does not need buttering but would be happy when the short comings are pointed out, I feel we will take a step closer to Him.
