Thought of the day 31.03.2016

First Change

When you do not upset yourself thinking about how others must change and instead you concentrate on your own change, good things start to happen. First, you will feel better about yourself. Second, you will start to have positive feelings towards others and start to understand them. Third, others start having a more positive attitude towards you.

Living A Life Rich With Relationships (Part 4)

Dealing with people in the right manner requires giving attention to the self at every step. E.g. if you have to interact with others in a company meeting, you will look after your external appearance and the way you look and keep yourself tidy before beginning it. At the same time, you need to look at your internal self and how tidy it is and see whether you are looking your best in terms of qualities and powers and also check whether you are spiritually empowered enough to face the situation. It’s not just about the physical appearance but also about remaining focused and stable and performing the right actions which make you worthy of praise and respect in your family and at your workplace. They say a good personality makes all the difference. Change that to – a good person makes all the difference. So personality is important but person is even more important. Role is important but soul is more important. The shirt is important but character is more important. That will make relationships work. Why are some relationships not working today? The reason is simple. Less attention on the inner self and more attention on the outer self.

Also, whenever you talk to someone, ensure that the words are not only smart but also soft. Also, check that they are not only full of energy but also enthusiasm. Bring power in your words but also peace. Make them sweet and not only sharp. Also, check your words and see that are not only full of authority but also loveful. Also do not forget to make your words full of respect and not ego. This way people will appreciate you not only for how you present yourself physically but they will also be impressed by your spiritual self. A life rich with relationships will happen when you remain polished in not only everything you do but also in how you do it and what is the energy of your actions on a subtle level.

Message of the day

To be in a state of self-respect is to use my specialties.

Thought to Ponder: It's during challenging situations that I need to use my specialties. Although I do have a lot of qualities that I could use, I find that it is during such challenging times that I am not able to have access to them. A long time practice of remembering and using these qualities will make me access them and use them during such times of need.

Point to Practice: Today I will remember my specialty. I will remember what my strengths are, what specialties others see in me and rely on me. I will use them through out the day in whatever I do. This will help me remember and use my specialties and will make me have access to them at the time of need.

Thought of the day 30.03.2016

Give Blessings

We are all blessed with life and all the opportunities it brings, though most of us forget to notice. But we also have blessings to give. In fact, the opportunity to give our blessings may be the greatest blessing of all. By bestowing our good wishes, encouraging, empowering others, we bless. And when we do, they return a thousand-fold. Bless and be blessed.

Living A Life Rich With Relationships (Part 3)

Loving everyone for their specialties is the best way to create beautiful relationships. They say see one specialty in everyone you come across and interact with each day.Suppose your parent has a virtue of loving everyone at home with complete trust and remaining quiet amongst little issues at home, that is the virtue of tolerance. Learn from him or her and become like that. This is the art of imbibing or picking up virtues. It is not only seeing others’ qualities which is also a sign of love, but making that quality yours. Also, suppose your brother or sister is good at dealing with people, make that quality yours and become like him or her. This is not bowing down in front of the other person. But, on the other hand, it is remaining in your self-respect and giving respect to the other person. The other person will do the same in return. This is called true love and it is what brings people together in a beautiful bond of togetherness. It’s not about copying people but making people feel valuable by making their qualities yours. It is commonly said – give blessings and take blessings. But another and similar act is - give qualities and take qualities. It binds people together and it creates an energy of trust wherever there are groups of people, whether in the family or at the workplace or in friend circles.

Also, whenever you meet someone, it is important to greet people with a warm smile and beautiful gestures so that people experience happiness not only from our words but also through our actions. They say your beautiful smile can make another person’s day. Also, remembering each one’s specialties and telling them to others is a beautiful way of gaining love and respect from the other. So make it a point to praise everyone with a deep heart and with a pure intention and not just artificially. You will see how people will respond by offering you their co-operation and help at every step.

(To be continued tomorrow …)

Message of the day

Real contentment spreads happiness to others too.

Expression: When one feels contentment but the others are not able to perceive that contentment, it means that it is not true contentment. Real contentment is visible in such a way that others too are able to feel the happiness that is created. When there is real contentment, all thoughts, words and actions are filled with quality.

Experience: When I am content, others automatically recognise the contentment within me. They are able to take benefit from my state. Even in the most hopeless state, I find that I become a source of support for those around me. I am able to give hope to the hopeless and help them get back to a state of happiness.

Thought of the day 29.03.2016

Live Fully

They say 'only fools live to the full'. Because only fools go where most of us fear to go, only fools do what many of us spend our lives avoiding. You don't have to climb Mount Everest, or cross the world in a hot air balloon to live to the full. Simply enter each day with a commitment not to avoid anything or anybody who comes your way. Then your Everests will come to you, in the form of difficult people and challenging situations, and the only thing you will need to conquer is our own fear and evasions. And when you do conquer, you will know that you have lived fully, for there is nothing more exhilarating than overcoming our own obstacles which, if the truth were known, are always only in our own minds. When you turn to face these inner obstacles and challenges some people call this real courage and you certainly are no fool.

Living A Life Rich With Relationships (Part 2)

Relationships are made of gold, one could say i.e. they are extremely valuable. They can be stolen easily if we do not take adequate care of them. Remember it is the child’s relationship with its mother in the womb which nourishes the child and brings it into this world. Later it grows up and comes into different relationships like ones with its father, brothers and sisters, friends, life partner, children, office colleagues and many more. So life is all about building the right relationships at the right time and taking forward one step at a time. It’s not about living alone and at the same time to make relationships work, a good relationship with oneself is extremely important. They say that a good ruler of the self is able to achieve success in handling relationships well. What that means is that techniques like meditation and mind relaxation make you better equipped to handle relationships with others properly. People whose minds are relaxed and focused because of these techniques, are able to concentrate their mental energies on improving their relationships and make them full of love and happiness and free from obstacles.

Loving others is only possible when we love ourselves and loving ourselves means that since we are our own best friend first, we take care that our thoughts, words and actions are not only right but extremely perfect, which can only happen when we truly love ourselves. Such people then naturally tend to love each one in their personal and professional groups. Don’t forget that God is loved so much by everyone universally all around the world because He has such a beautiful personality and a nature full of love for others. Soperfect people will automatically attract love from others. They will easily and absolutely naturally make others comfortable and content with their way of talking and performing actions. Live well and love well is the slogan of their beautiful lives, which is just like God’s personality.

Message of the day

True knowledge is that which comes into practice.

Expression: To know and not to bring into practice means there is not the accurate understanding of it. It is natural that whenever there is clear understanding change is brought about very naturally and with great ease.

Expression: When I am able to bring about a change within myself based on understanding, I naturally change with interest and commitment. I don't feel the pressure of the situations or people for me to bring about a change, but very gently and naturally.

Thought of the day 28.03.2016

Free Mind
A free mind is a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing. Most people spend much of their time looking for reasons to be offended. An open mind is never offended because it is free of any attachments. It is never the self that is offended but always the illusion that the self has of itself that is affected by insult! If you can really understand this, deeply grasp it’s truth, live it each day, then pain will be no more. Next time you “feel” offended look closely within yourself at yourself and ask yourself what was offended? If you remain aware you will see that it was only an image of yourself which you had become attached to, and that image did not resonate with the image contained in the insult. If you weren’t attached, if you didn’t identify with the wrong image of yourself then there would be no offence taken. You would then remain free and therefore happy.

Living A Life Rich With Relationships (Part 1)

We all live a life full of relationships of different types. Starting from the morning till the night, relationships are a constant support system for us and almost like a lifeline. Imagine for once that you were alone in this world and you would have to spend 75-80 years living alone and taking care of yourself through food and also live alone with no one to share your love and joy with. How would such a life be and how does it sound? Interesting? Not at all. So relationships are like life’s oxygen. You know man is trying to make a manned mission to the planet Mars within the next few years. So, a life without relationships would be like staying alone on Mars. We would need to make our own meals, generate our own electricity, filter our own water to drink and there would be no need to earn money because our basic needs would be taken care of and there would be no one to take care of and bring up. That is an imagination not reality. But what is reality is that relationships are a source of strength for us and of course a source of so much love that a life without them cannot be imagined.

Love is the primary virtue of the world and it is the most liked emotion of the world. Even God brings change in us on the basis of love. The soul changes itself because of love for God. Even power in the soul is filled by God, because He loves us immensely. All the work that God does on us and helps us become better human beings is because of His love for us. We are indebted to Him for that and then in return for all the love He showers on us, we become further determined to bring change in ourselves. So love with God works both ways and is the basis of a beautiful relationship with Him.Also, people whom we come in contact with in our relationships come close to us primarily because of the virtue of love and love is the foundation of strong and stable relationships.

Message of the day

The one who is humble is always successful.

Expression: The one who is humble is free from desires and is in a state of appreciation and contentment of what he has. So he does not want to prove to himself that he is successful. He only enjoys the process of learning and progressing. He is never deterred by criticism and takes it in the right spirit.

Expression: Humility enables me to appreciate the effort put in by those around me. I would naturally be able to see the specialities in others and respect them for it. There would be no feeling of envy. So I would naturally be able to have the quality of contributing for the progress of others too.

Embodiment of Success

May you become the embodiment of success by having the determination to make fruit grow even on infertile land. To become the embodiment of success in anything, a combination of determination and love is required. Just as scientists nowadays try to grow things in a desert, in the same way, continue to give the water of love with the power of silence and become fruitful. With determination, you can ignite the lamp of hope in those who are hopeless.

Practical Positive Response Training To The Mind (Part 3)

In last two days’ messages, we have explained the process of restoring positivity in the mind when faced with a negative situation, where the most common response is a negative one but the mind can be trained to respond in a different way, in a positive way. Today we explain this process with an example.

e.g. You have just had a major argument with your spouse and have lost your temper. At that time, not only your mind but your physical body also feels uncomfortable - it is in a state of complete stress. You feel your blood pressure has suddenly shot up, your heart is beating fast, you feel uncomfortable in the stomach, your hands are shaking, your face and eyes are red. On top of that, you also feel sad. You have behaved like this many times before and you know the results of responding in this way. The relationship has been scarred and you have worsened a situation. This could have been avoided. There is sorrow, guilt, low self esteem and hopelessness over your loss of control. Also, there is a fear regarding your future, not necessarily a long term one, because things will get sorted out sooner or later, but a short term uncertainty does exist, especially regarding what your spouse's response will be in the next few hours or days. In this state of mental and physical helplessness or desperation, anger may come again either projected towards yourself or towards your partner, which will be followed by the same effects, worsening your state further. In this moment of lack of spiritual wisdom, you remind yourself of the simple wisdom that you are in fact a soul. Even while you are still caught up in the turmoil of the negative situation, using your intellect, you consciously emerge inside yourself, your true awareness of being a sparkling point of peaceful light situated just above the eyes, at the center of the forehead. You not only become aware but you also use the intellect to visualize your true, peaceful, spiritual and star-like form clearly. In that moment, you are able to tap into the reservoir of peace that is present deep inside your being. You calm your mind by holding on to this awareness for a few minutes. You feel - you know - that you are peace. As this experience grows, it has a soothing effect on your whole physical system. Gradually, stability and peace are restored to your body as well as your mind.

Message of the day

To spread the rays of happiness is to be optimistic.

Expression: The one who is optimistic is able to spread the rays of happiness all around. Never does he stop or move back with life's challenges. On the other hand, he has the courage and determination to move on making the best out of the situation. Others too are encouraged seeing his faith.

Expression: When I am optimistic I am able to understand that there is something good that is hidden in everything that happens. I am able to enjoy seeing only this positive aspect, filling me with positivity. So my happiness spreads around and touches the lives of those around me.

Within You

Anything you keep within you will automatically reveal itself. Therefore make sure you are always full of attainments in your character. These will be revealed through your eyes, your words and your behaviour and you will be capable of having great influence on others.

Practical Positive Response Training To The Mind (Part 2)

If I believe that I am just the physical body and that my thoughts are simply results of chemical and electrical processes in the brain, and not something I can consciously control, I let go of the key of taking charge of what is going on inside my mind. In meditation, my intellect recognizes and realizes that my thoughts are my own creation, of me the soul and not the body and that I, the soul, using the intellect, which is also a part of the soul, can make choices about them.

When I realize that my natural state is to be the master of my mind and not to be dictated by it or dictated by the brain, I start taking charge of what is going on inside. When I practice being a master of my mind repeatedly by practicing meditation regularly, the new habit of creating only positive thoughts settles inside me and my habit of responding negatively with a negative state of mind to negative situations, begins to change over a period of time. I start responding positively even to negative situations. So, meditation is a major transformation process of the habit of thinking negatively, which then has positive results on my personality and behavior.

Tomorrow we shall further clarify the process which has been explained in today’s and yesterday’s message, with an example.

Message of the day

To donate virtues is the greatest donation.

Expression: To donate virtues means to express virtues through one's own words and actions. There is some or the other value revealed through all words and actions. The ones who constantly have the aim of donating virtues naturally bring benefit to all they come into contact with. No one would go away empty handed from such people.

Expression: When I constantly have the aim of using my virtues I have the satisfaction of giving continuously under all circumstances. I also find my own treasures of virtues increasing and I find myself richer and better than what I was. Thus I experience constant progress in my life.

Serving Others

The secret of finding deep fulfilment lies in serving others. The boss who looks after his staff and customers as he would his own family is a successful boss and a happy human being.

Soul Sustenance

Practical Positive Response Training To The Mind (Part 1)

Meditation is a process in which I train the mind to consciously create those right type of thoughts that I wish to have, inside my mind, regularly in my daily routine. On the field of action, I am faced with various different types of negative and uncomfortable situations, which have the first and most immediate effect on my thoughts, before showing on my face in my expressions or in my words or actions. I do realize inside, that the thoughts (and as a result my physical response) created at these times are not the right ones. I want to inculcate a habit, whereby my thought patterns are only which I like or are the right, positive and powerful ones no matter what happens.

So where do I start? Meditation is the start. Meditation is the time, when I consciously create positive thoughts. What benefit do I achieve from that? In these few moments, I am changing the deep and very old habit (not limited only to this birth) of creating the wrong type of thoughts, whenever I am faced with a situation which I do not like. How do I do this? I do this through the intellect. The intellect takes hold of the reins of the mind and chooses the direction in which it will travel. Why is it able to do this? Because, during meditation, I bring myself back to the knowledge or belief that I am a soul and my intellect accepts and absorbs this awareness. This belief then becomes the key to taking charge of what is going on in my mind.

(To be continued tomorrow …)

Message of the day

Easy nature makes tasks easy.

Expression: The ones with an easy nature constantly think of solutions instead of problems. So such individuals are free from the burden of problems and are constantly contributing to make things easy for themselves and others too. The right environment to bring out the best result is naturally created by them.

Expression: When I have an easy nature, I am able to put a full stop in a second with great ease. I am not caught with the waste questions and exclamations. So I am able to enjoy everything that comes my way and move forward constantly with lightness.

Six Ways to Overcome Procrastination

Procrastination is not only the thief of time, it
is the creator of subtle inner tension. You know you are cheating yourself. There are three secrets to overcoming procrastination. One, don't wait till you feel like doing it - the feeling will come only when you start doing it. Two, list all the things you have to do and then prioritise the list. Three, create a vision of the result and be motivated by the vision of the outcome, not the thought of the process. And the options to those ideas? One - ask for help. Two - completely forget about it, you don't have to do anything! Three - if there is anything you can learn from the process then see it is action learning. Six ways to overcome procrastination ... but you may have other ideas.

The Car-Driver Comparison To Aid Self Realization (Part 1)

One of the comparisons which help in self realization i.e. in strengthening the awareness that I, the soul, a non-physical energy am different from this physical body is that of the driver and the car, where the driver represents the spiritual energy and the car represents the body which is controlled by the spiritual energy. The biggest reason why I do not have the desired control over my physical body, my vehicle, my sense organs today is that I lost the consciousness of being a driver which could control and rule the vehicle. Instead I developed the consciousness that I am this vehicle, this physical body. This consciousness disconnected me from the ability and the power I possessed inside me to control the vehicle. If I want to achieve the desired control, I need to be in a driver consciousness i.e. in the awareness that I am a soul and my body is a vehicle, through which I experience life. Being in this awareness, in this consciousness awakens me and empowers me to regain the much required control over my body.

The car controls are the gears, brakes, accelerator and steering wheel which can be compared to the sense organs of the soul which are the mind, intellect and sanskarsand those of the body which are the eyes, ears, nose, hands and tongue. A good driver is one who remains extremely alert and is able to use the gears, brakes, accelerator and steering wheel effectively and efficiently, in order to be fully in control of the vehicle and avoid any accidents. In the same way, as I move on the road of life, I need to keep my mental and physical sense organs (mentioned above) in complete control. If I do that, they will keep my journey enjoyable and take me to my desired destination of mental peace and happiness safely and successfully. If I don’t do that and let them overpower me, accidents will definitely occur, making me peaceless and sorrowful.

Message of the day

Faith is the key to the best use of one's fortune.

Expression: For the one who has faith, in the self and in things, there is only positivity. Under all circumstances, there are only opportunities and treasures seen. Each moment is an inner urge to discover these hidden treasures and make the best use of them. So the one who has faith draws out the best from each and every situation.

Expression: When I am able to move forward with faith, I am encouraged to give my best under all circumstances and am able to enjoy the best fruit of the effort that I put in. Faith gives me the courage to go on even during difficult times and so I have the satisfaction of bringing about constant change and progress in my life.

Cool and Peaceful

Become a goddess of coolness and make all your physical senses cool and peaceful. Those who are masters of the self cannot be deceived by any of their physical senses. A goddess of coolness can never get angry. Some say that they don't have anger, but that they do have to have a little bossiness. However, even bossiness is a trace of anger. So, you are gods and goddesses of coolness, therefore traits of anger or bossiness cannot emerge even in your dreams.

Becoming Aware Of What Is Ego

All of us are familiar, to different extents, with the emotion of ego. All of us don’t even define it in the same way. We are also aware to different extents, about the negative repercussions (effects) of the emotion of ego on us and on others. Depending on how aware we are about the effects, we work to eradicate the emotion from our daily lives, so that it neither disturbs us nor others. Some of us even consider it a positive emotion and feel it contributes positively to our personal and professional progress. To be aware completely of the negative effects of ego and to realize clearly whether it is a positive emotion or not in the first place, it is important to first become aware of what it is exactly. So, how can we define ego

Ego is attachment, inside my consciousness, to an incorrect image of myself which I then mistake for myself. When the attachment takes place, you lose your sense of identity in the image of the object of attachment which you create on the screen of your mind. That object can be something physical like your body, your physical personality, a relationship, a material possession, your status, money, a particular skill, respect from others, etc. or something non-physical like a belief; an opinion; a mindset, a memory, a particular virtue, specialty, power or a sanskara(positive or negative), etc. Therefore ego is the self attaching to and identifying with an image that is not the self. This process takes place entirely within our consciousness many times in the day, on the screen of the mind. E.g. When we say this ismy salary package (something physical) ormy opinion (something non-physical), we are (without being aware about it) creating an image of the salary package or the opinion inside our consciousness and becoming attached to it, so that we lose our self identity in the salary package or the opinion, believing that I am the salary package or the opinion. So at that time, the salary package or the opinion becomes an incorrect image of the self to which I am attached. This is ego. If while thinking, feeling or speaking about my salary package or my opinion, we do not become attached to or do not lose our self identity in either of the two, then that is not ego.

Message of the day

To recognise one's own uniqueness is to respect oneself.

Expression: To have respect for oneself based on other people's opinion or situational achievements is to have respect temporarily. True respect for the self is based on the recognition of the fact that every individual is unique with its own set of unique capabilities. This understanding enables one to see one's own uniqueness without being influenced or without comparing with others.

Expression: When I know to recognise and appreciate my own uniqueness and respect myself on this basis, I am able to be free from ego or a feeling of inferiority. I am also able to recognise naturally the uniqueness of the other person and respect him for it. Thus I am able to win the love and respect of others too.

Non-violence

Non-violence is a very deep philosophy. Not only does it require me to harm no one physically, but also to avoid harming anyone's self-respect. Such an ethic requires tremendous awareness and sensitvity. When I have learned to be gentle with myself, I can be the same with others.

Serving Though The Subtle Body Of Light

Apart from our physical form (body), each one of us also has a form of light - a subtle light body. It is referred to as the aura, and can be seen by some sensitive souls. All of us might not be able to see it, but we can become aware of the aura of others’ through the vibrations they emit. The purity of our subtle, light form is dependent on the purity of our thoughts or mental vibrations. Given below are some thoughts for a meditation to help experience your subtle form and serve through it. Think and visualize each thought alongside:

I become detached from my physical surroundings... I consciously create only the purest thoughts... Now I visualize my true form… I am a subtle being of pure spiritual light, a sparkling star situated at the center of the forehead... Gradually, I become aware of my subtle body of pure, white light surrounding my physical form... In my body of light, I, the soul, the sparkling energy, consciously stand up and step away from my physical form, which remains seated... I, the soul, inside my subtle body, observe my physical body in a detached way… Now I slowly fly outside the room I am in… I visualize myself, in the subtle form, suspended in the sky… White rays of spiritual light radiate from me, the soul, and my body of light into the world... like that of an angel… In this pure awareness of myself in my form of light, I realize that the greatest gifts I can share with those around me are the light of love, peace and truth.

Sitting anywhere, this meditation exercise can be done to visualize oneself in a hospital, on the site of a natural calamity, accident, next to a friend or relative in pain etc., basically anywhere where vibrations of positivity, peace and happiness are required – the location of visualizing yourself can be hundreds of miles from where you may physically be. As you practice the art of being aware of your subtle body, you will begin to sense how you can have a positive effect on others simply radiating good wishes, pure thoughts and pure feelings.

Message of the day

True victory lies in inspiring courage in others too.

Expression: The one who is victorious enables others to be victorious too. Such a person will never make the other person seem any less. He will never allow the other person to feel defeated because the one who is victorious is a bestower. He has the ability to give courage to others and fill with hope to achieve something better.

Experience: When I have the feeling of being victorious, I would naturally want others too to experience the same. I would look for ways to give courage and support to the ones who are losing. This will never let me lose hope in myself or in others and will also win the trust and good wishes of others. So there is a constant experience of being victorious.

Create Silence

Learn to create silence in your mind and peace will flourish in your heart. Don't
overthink and the answer will present itself to you.

The Art Of Tolerance (Part 4)

Life teaches you that you can widen the limits of your tolerance. When certain situations arrive, they are like exams in order to see your capacity to tolerate. These exams can first be the unpleasant words and harassment by people towards you. Secondly, the different obstacles that place themselves in your path, making it difficult to carry out your aims. There are also people that you trust who will oppose you. Your work colleagues or your partners or your relatives or even children turn into your enemies and create opposition because they are not happy about small or big issues. With the feeling of satisfying those who are not happy, considering that they are influenced by something, holding on to benevolent (generous) feelings and with the power of silence and tolerance, you can make others advance, overcome and collaborate. You can teach the lesson of tolerance with sweetness, good desires and pure feelings. That way not only do you advance, but you are also a searchlight on the road, a medium, seeing whom, others can also advance.

Learn to tolerate with wellbeing. Stabilize yourself in your inner being and, from that calm, clarity and stability you can tolerate without losing your wellbeing. To tolerate is to accept, value, understand and appreciate. Not making a mountain out of a mustard seed (rai in Hindi) but rather the contrary, by taking expansion to the essence, turning a mountain into a mustard seed (light), a mustard seed into cotton – rui in Hindi (extremely light), as the saying goes.

Message of the day

To be a trustee of God is to use all treasures well.

Thought to Ponder: When I understand that all that is mine is truly God's, I can use all that I have sensibly. I would not want to waste anything that I have - not my money, resources, thoughts or words and actions. I would use all that I have sensibly as an instrument of God. I would also be detached, whilst doing everything.

Point to Practice: Today I will take up one resource I have, for example, the resource of thoughts. I will remind myself throughout the day that I am a trustee and God has given me these so that I can look after it well and use them for the good of myself or others. When I do this, I will not let negative or waste thoughts to come in. I will only have those thoughts that are useful. So, each day I can keep check on any of the other resources that I have.

The Art Of Tolerance (Part 3)

Someone who has the power of tolerance will never be afraid or think: Why is this happening to me too? As they are constantly full, they will go deeper into the knowledge and the memory of what is essential in life. The one who is full of fear is not capable of going deeper. That's why there is depth in something that is full (wholeness). The one who has expansion is empty; for this reason, something that is empty resounds and that person devotes him or herself to muttering (talking excessively) away.

The one who has wholeness is silent; the one who is empty speaks a lot. Someone who lives in expansion will be constantly murmuring saying things like: Why this? What is this? This should not be like that but rather in this way. It shouldn't be like that. This person will continue talking in this way in their thoughts and in their words, and also while interacting with others. What happens when you chatter away, beyond the limits? Your murmuring leaves you dry, out of breath and you tire. Those who are tolerant are saved from all these things and for this reason they always feel enjoyment and bliss, they do not chatter but rather fly in the wholeness of their inner silence.

Message of the day

To be fortunate means to do everything with love.

Thought to Ponder: Life gives opportunities constantly to express my qualities or to gain new skills. When I understand this, there is no effort in doing things. Each and every action is done with love. Such a person is truly fortunate, because where there is love, everything becomes easy. No new challenge or demand from the external situation is seen as a threat. It, in fact, becomes an opportunity to express my qualities or discover new qualities from within me.

Point to Practice: Today I will move forward with courage. Whatever situations life brings me, I am going to welcome them with love. I will deal with all those situations with the right spirit. With love I find things becoming easy. I also win the good wishes of others, helping me to move forward with more ease.

Thought of the day 18.03.2016

Identify Yourself

So who are you? Or what are you? Are you what you do - as defined by your job title? Are you where you come from, as defined by your nationality? If you were born in a stable does that make you a horse? Are you what people call you - as defined by your name? Are you what you believe - as defined by what you call your faith? If none of these things are what you are, what are you? Who are you? There's nothing left. So what shall we call you? Nothing? No thing is better. But then what? Awareness? Consciousness? Soul? Spirit? Or are these just more labels? But can you go beyond the label and just be yourself? Self. Individual. Aware. Conscious. Free. Self. That's what you are. Try telling that to passport control!

The Art Of Tolerance (Part 2)

In the Ramayana, Mahavir Hanuman has been portrayed as carrying a great mountain in his hand as if it were a ball. It does not matter if the problem, obstacle or storm seems like a great mountain: one need to turn something that appears as big as a mountain into a small toy, and overcome it as if it were a game. Making something big very light makes you also feel light. Don't turn a small stone into a mountain; turn the mountain into a ball. To take the expansion to its essence is tolerance.

Expanding obstacles and problems in your mind or speaking of them to others means to create mountains. Don't go into expansion: put a full stop and turn over the page of life and that way you will advance. A tolerant person is always capable of taking expansion, problems and obstacles to their essence with knowledge, meditation and silence. When you choose the longest road, doing so consumes more and ends up by exhausting your time and energy. Expansion is the longest road and the essence is to take a shortcut. Both work in order to get to the other side, but those who take a shortcut are able to save their time and energy, they do not get discouraged. They constantly enjoy themselves and overcome everything with a smile. That is being tolerant. When you have developed the power of tolerance, you do things with pleasure. We are not referring to the physical pleasures but rather to living a life with pleasure in your heart, and that way you will be able to transform any situation or task from confusion into pleasure.

Message of the day

To finish weaknesses from the seed is to ensure they don't come back.

Thought to Ponder: When I don't understand the real cause of my weakness, I cannot get rid of it fully. It, then, keeps coming back again and again in some or the other form. So, the first thing I need to do is to understand why that particular weakness is coming up again and again. For example, if my weakness is laziness, I need to check if it is because of escapism or fear of failure or any other weakness. This practice helps me to work on my real weakness.

Point to Practice: Today I will pick out one weakness of mine, which I want to do away with. I will then, try and discover what is the real cause of my weakness. I will then try and work on removing that weakness first. I will also do this with a lot of self-respect without any negative feelings.

Never Fight

Nothing is worth fighting for. Wisdom never fights, it waits patiently, speaks positively, releases easily, sees benefit in everything and envisions a future of abundance…knowing that all needs will be met at the right moment, in the right way. If you think life is a struggle you will always be struggling. If you think life is a breeze, your attitudes and actions will convey lightness and easiness. And that’s what attracts everything you need, and much more. Make today a breeze not a battle.

The Art Of Tolerance (Part 1)

It is important to understand that to overcome problems you need, on the one hand, inner power, and, on the other, thecapacity to tolerate. Tolerating does not mean to put up with. To tolerate is to accept, understand and know how to face things. That is, to tolerate is not to put up with and then explode at a later stage. In tolerance you dissolve that which, otherwise you would be putting up with. Tolerance is like the ocean, which is an example of tolerance, because we throw a lot of dirt into the ocean, the ocean absorbs it and, over time, transforms it. Tolerance is being like the ocean, that is, knowing how to absorb and dissolve, and finally to make it disappear.

Tolerance has to be balanced with the capacity to face things, which is based on bravery, courage and personal security. Having the power to tolerate gives you security and trust that you will be able to, you will achieve it, and you will advance. Tolerance is necessary for shared living, to be and allow to be. With the virtue of tolerance, you will continue to smile, you will never be discouraged. To smile when someone praises you is not to be tolerant. However, when someone turns into an angry enemy and insults you, but you do not have even the slightest sign of dejection on your face, not even in your thoughts, that is to be tolerant. To look, to speak and to enter in contact with feelings of compassion, patience, comprehension, love and respect, with a person that you do not have a good relationship with, is to have tolerance.

Message of the day

The method to be easy is to be busy in the mind with right things.

Thought to Ponder: If I don't keep my mind busy with the right things, it will just wander and maybe even go to those things that are harmful. The mind is like a child. I need to know the art of keeping it busy, so that it is not attracted to anything harmful. So, it is important that we keep a schedule for the mind too, just as we keep a schedule for the activities of the day.

Point to Practice: Today I will make a schedule for myself for the mind. My schedule for the mind would be that which inspires me to change my consciousness while I am doing what I am doing. I will remember one quality or specialty of mine and keep it as a background in all I do. For example, I take the thought, "I have a special role to play in the drama of life. I am a good actor using all my best qualities and abilities" It could also be a thought like, "I am contributing my sweetness (or any other value) in all I do".

Thought of the day 16.03.2016

Que Sera, Sera

Resistance leads to persistence. Whatever you resist or push against simply persists and pushes back in equal measure. Instead, transform resistance into acceptance by practicing "Que Sera, Sera ... whatever will be, will be..."

Consciousness Cleansing (Part 3)

Purity of the mind which will come by the remembrance of God is something that is to be made the aim of your life and is the most important characteristic of your life. After all,the purer you are, the more happiness you attract in your life. Do you know that each time we have an impure thought we transmit an energy packet to the universe of a negative nature and that energy packet will then come back to us in the form of a sorrow filled circumstance which can be of any nature. So, purity of the soul or our consciousness is like the most important aspect of our lives because it is the foundation of all our life experiences which come to us from the outside world.

If a person is regularly having negative life experiences, that means she has negative energy inside her due to some negative action of her immediate or far off past, which is at the present moment coming back to her in the form of negative scenes in her life. So what she needs to do at that point of time is to create a lot of positive thoughts, full of purity i.e. thoughts free from lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego and full of peace, love, joy and spiritual power. Also these thoughts should be full of high self-esteem, and focused towards the negative scenes in her life i.e. creating these powerful thoughts and then complementing them with thoughts of success. Also visualizing that negative scenes of failure are being overcome, can do magic and wonders and bring her sorrows to an end. This is what a pure consciousness can do. E.g. if a person is suffering from regular financial losses and there is no end to them, he could start creating positive thoughts of success and remain free from negative thoughts of failure. At the same time he could remain in high self-esteem while doing this and experience complete purity of the soul in a positive state of mind and remain free from impurity or negative states of the mind. Over a period of a few days, he will start noticing a change in his negative situations. This is guaranteed if done the way we have outlined in this message. This is celibacy in practical life and it is a broader definition of the term celibacy and not restricted to the misuse of lust alone. So celibacy or complete purity is the essence of our lives and the key to the treasure of peace and happiness in our life.

Message of the day

The way to be healthy is to have the nourishment of happiness.

Thought to Ponder: The best nourishment for both the body and mind is the nourishment of happiness. The one who is able to be in happiness under all circumstances is truly healthy. When I have the aim to be happy, I will start finding reasons to be so. Happiness brings a lot of other qualities that help me empower myself to face challenges. So, I become stronger mentally, thereby becoming physically healthier too.

Point to Practice: Today I will be happy whatever the situations or challenges I may have to face through out the day. Instead of finding small little reasons to be upset, let me today find small little reasons to be happy. Even when everything seems to be going wrong, there is surely something that is going right or could go right with my effort.

Thought of the day 15.03.2016

Real Love is like a Tiny Diamond

The problem nowadays is that love is interpreted on a gross level. Just as many people are attracted to the size and glitter of a fake diamond, so are they swayed by false, superficial love. There is no value in either. A real diamond is often quite small, but it is flawless. That is where it's value lies. Real love is like a tiny diamond: it is not flashy and it is without a single flaw. Real love is one hundred percent pure. There is nothing artificial mixed into it. It is clean. There are no ulterior motives in real love.

Consciousness Cleansing (Part 2)

Whenever you step into the daily routine, give yourself a few positive thoughts which will orient your mind towards a pure consciousness and attitude towards others. We all know that cleanliness is the originalsanskara of the soul and cleanliness is where there is peace, joy, love and power inside our consciousness. Also it is where there is no room for emotions or thoughts of anger, ego, jealousy, hatred and too much thinking about the past or future or in general about others and what they are doing, which is sometimes unnecessary and in excess.

So, when we start the daily work routine at 7 or 8 o’clock or after that, it is important to read something positive before that and fill our mind with positivity which will keep our mind occupied for the rest of the day. This reading of wisdom or spiritual knowledge or practical tips for mind empowerment early in the morning will change your mindset and you will feel mentally fresh and powerful. On the other hand, an empty mind i.e. one that has not filled itself with positive thoughts can easily come under the influence of the different ups and downs of the day or varietysanskaras or natures of different people at the workplace or even in your family. Such a person is constantly vibrant and full of energy, radiating contentment and without any complaints about life in general and how it is going on. Also, as they say food, rest and exercise are the key to a healthy body. In the same way, experiencing oneself as a soul and going with the eye of your mind to your spiritual Father, the Supreme Soul or God and charging yourself with mental energy and positivity is like an exercise. The exercise of connecting with God, with the power of visualization and thought, gives the soul a lot of strength. Also positive thoughts are like the food for the soul. Also, rest for the soul, along with experiencing peace at hourly intervals, is loving God in different ways all through the day. God is always with us and teaches us how to radiate good wishes to each soul and tie them in a bond of pure love with oneself and with God. So, enjoying the company of God while performing actions and giving that ocean of love, which you receive from Him, to others, gives a lot of peace, rest and fulfillment to the soul, because you receive a lot of blessings in return, from those whom you have shared God’s love with.

Message of the day

To see only problems is to become the one who only takes service.

Thought to Ponder: When there is the practice of seeing only problems in all situations there is the inability to find solutions and act effectively. All the resources that could be used for the benefit of the self and others remain hidden. Such a person becomes dependent on others for finding solutions and a source of pity.

Point to Practice: When I am caught up with problems and not able to see anything else, I am unable to experience progress. I find myself moving backward losing a lot of things I have. I would not be able to retain my self-confidence and would become dependent on others.

Thought of the day 14.03.2016

Oasis of Peace

Deep inside our consciousness is an oasis of peace. This is the molten core of the soul, but it is not hot, it is cool. Not passive, but a source of inner power to fuel our mind and intellect, so that we can create powerful thoughts and make accurate decisions. If you can learn to go to this centre, peace will be your companion, positivity your partner, and you will be able to chill out in one second, anywhere, anytime. Returning to the centre of your self is the journey of one second. It is the regular destination of clever souls. And it is the source of your power and peace.

Being a Peacemaker - It's not about winning the Nobel Peace Prize. It is about choosing to be a peacemaker and working towards a win-win solution in every situation.

First, stop being at war with yourself, and when the turbulence in your mind ceases, you can begin to make peace with the world.

Consciousness Cleansing (Part 1)

Living a life in which there is complete freedom from your old habits makes you emotionally stronger and also full of all powers which are required to experience success in all the different types of life situations. So, giving time to checking the self in this way once a day, at the end of the day, helps us re-condition our self for the next day and act accordingly. Old habits dominate our thought process and also do not let us stay in peace and inner contentment. So, whenever you start the day and enter the field of action, tell yourself that I will experience inner contentment in all spheres of life by remaining in tune with my original nature of peace and complete purity as well as joy. Where there is purity of the mind, there will be peace and joy.

Purity can be defined as the complete celibacy of the mind in which there is no trace, even at the most subtle level, of lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego – the five many enemies of the soul which spoil the texture of the soul and reduce its quality in terms of virtues. Celibacy is not restricted only to the absence of a particular vice but is the complete quality of the soul with a holistic meaning. Normally when we talk about celibacy, it is a word which we relate with an absence of an excessive misuse of lust as a vice. But, holistic celibacy means a mind which has completely freed itself from all the vices e.g. excessive misuse of anger to get work done is a vice but assertiveness to do the same is not a vice. Also, excessive misuse of greed to achieve big things in life is a vice but being reasonably ambitious to do the same is not a vice. Another example - loving your family members with joy is a not a vice but being attached to them, which causes sorrow at times, is a vice. And lastly, being full of self-esteem and being happy about your specialties and talents is not a vice but becoming egoistic about them as well as boasting about them is a vice. Socelibacy means having the knowledge of all the vices and all their different shades and remaining free of them and is not restricted to only lust and its misuse.
