Your thoughts guide you to your destiny. If you always think the same you will always get to the same place. Think in a new way and you will be a new person.

The Beautiful Personality Of God (Part 2)

Being a loveful parent, God maintains feelings of world benefit inside Himself and always thinks about how the world can become a beautiful land of love, where as the saying goes that even the goat and the lion drink water together at one stream. This is just a saying but what it means is that God’s role is to establish a world of pure love where humans and animals live together in peace and love. Also, He fills everyone with so much love that they become like Him by loving Him and that shows in their relationships. Remember to be in love with God, means to become loving with everyone. There are many people in the world who became sweeter individuals after they found the love of God in their lives. So, love for the Father changes itself into love for others in our life easily.

God never punishes anyone for his wrong actions but instead He showers mercy on each one and is always hopeful and positive that all His children will change for the good because they were originally pure and loveful and the present weaknesses are just temporary. This is the sweet personality of God and this is why He is worshipped and loved the most. Never think that He is God, so it is natural to love Him. No one is loved unless He is good. God has over so many years done a lot for the billions of humans and has shown His personality to everyone. God also comes down on Earth repeatedly after intervals of every 5000 years when the world and its people require to be changed. This is when He comes into contact with human souls and purifies them to become better individuals. It is in this journey of the world that His nature is discovered by humans and that is why after He goes away, God is remembered a lot for all that He has done.

Message of the day

Real positivity is to have positive thoughts even during a negative situation.

Thought to Ponder: To think positive when everything is going on fine is good enough. But to create a positive thought when things are not fine is real positive thinking. It is such practice that makes us stronger, better and more powerful with each passing difficulty. On the other hand, every turbulent situation makes a weak mind weaker.

Point to Practice: Today I will find something positive in the most negative situation. I will try to find the brighter side to something that seems obviously negative. I will remind myself of this and sustain it, so that negativity doesn't influence me.

Thought of the day 29.09.2015

Being free from Desires

To be free from desires is to have the experience of attainment. The
more there are desires, the more it becomes difficult to appreciate
what is there and what is attained. Life becomes a constant struggle
for attaining something else. One desire is fulfilled and before it
can be appreciated all energies are focused on the fulfilment of ten
other desires. When we continue to run after desires, we are not able
to have the experience of having attained anything. Running for
desires is like running after the shadow, we can never get it. But
when we turn our back on it, it runs after us. If we are free from
desires, we are rich because we are content with whatever little we
have and we are happy putting in effort to be better with that
little.

The Beautiful Personality Of God (Part 1)

Have you ever wondered why God is respected so much and seen as a guiding light by all religions? Ever seen someone who says God is imperfect? Only some who have experienced some sorrow in their lives sometimes wrongly blame God for what has happened in their lives. That too only temporarily. Later everyone realizes that God can never be blamed for anything that happens in their life. On the other hand, God only thinks good and pure for everyone and never harms anyone. This is the reason why God is trusted by everyone as the most beautiful spiritual parent who is full of good wishes for His billions of children and will never bring them down in any way. They say that God has a thousand eyes with which He takes care of the whole world and keeps a vision of love for each one irrespective of whatever keeps happening in the world. God is the Ocean of Purity. There is no one purer than Him in the entire Universe. Purity means a 100% soul conscious stage without any consciousness of the body. This is God’s constant stage which never changes. God never experiences sorrow even for a second ever. He is also ever peaceful, with no trace of a negative thought or a feeling in His consciousness inspite of all the negative events happening all across the world and violence also increasing. SoGod, inspite of being a parent to so many children with such different personalities, always maintains His stage of soul consciousness and in fact serves the world while being in that stage. This is the beauty of God and this is the reason why He is the most loved one in the entire world.

So, taking inspiration from this parent, we need to change ourselves and become a child who is similar to his spiritual Father or the Father of the soul or God. That is in the true sense loving God and that is commonly called at the Brahma Kumaris as – Follow Father. Also, don’t Follow Brother or Sister, which means love and respect everyone but follow only God, because He is constantly perfect.

(To be continued tomorrow …)

Message of the day

Powerful thoughts dispel the darkness of the weakness of mind.

Thought to Ponder: No one likes to be weak. But when weakness comes, we get more weak thoughts and this creates a vicious cycle. It is only long after the situation is over that we are able to come back to a normal state of mind. But we need to remember that positive thoughts (like light) are the only means by which we can finish the darkness of our mind.

Point to Practice: Today I will be prepared and alert. I will keep the light of positivity with me like a torch. This could be in the form of a small positive thought. I will keep it with me all the time wherever I go. So, even if I find negative or a weakness coming my way, I will recognize it immediately and replace it with the positive thought.

Thought of the day 29.09.2015

True Peace
True peace can be experienced only when we stop giving and taking sorrow. In order not to give sorrow we need a clear heart that has no ill feelings and for not taking sorrow we need a big heart that can tolerate and help other souls to get over their weaknesses.

The Journey Of Purpose

All of us, at some point of time, in fact almost right through our life, keep different types of long term or short term goals - personal goals, professional, financial, social, relationship goals; goals related to physical well being and health, spiritual goals etc. Sometimes we are not even aware ourselves, but we are passing through the journey of life with some purpose or the other at all times, the purpose may be a higher purpose or something connected to our day-to-day living.

Whatever actions we perform then, our aimed at fulfilling this purpose. Also these actions are full of lots of expectations, the expectations of achieving some results. These results which we desire or expect arrive at times and sometimes they don't. If they don't, which is a very common aspect of any such journey of purpose; they generate emotions of worry inside us. Even if the results are achieved, the nature of journey, prior to those results is stressful as compared to a journey which is purpose filled but expectation free, which some might argue is not possible. Worry and stress not only harm the spiritual and emotional self but even our physical body and relationships, making the journey difficult and tiring. It is not incorrect to be action oriented and having some clear objectives in progressing towards our purpose, but we need to be capable of aiming ourselves at our dreams without becoming date conscious and the expectation of them being fulfilled now, or on a specific date, in a particular way or form. If not, we live in a tomorrow consciousness and tend to get upset or discouraged easily and we don't enjoy today. It is not incorrect to be happy when we achieve something, but if our happiness is dependent on our achievements, we will always delay it. Happiness is not later, it is always now. It is commonly said - Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Here we say – Happiness is not only in reaching your purpose, your destination, but also in the journey of purpose. Also, it’s important to note that a carefree and detached intellect will always attract positive circumstances which serve as bridges in reaching one's purpose, much more, as compared to a worried intellect.

Message of the day

Positivity in the mind brings power in words.

Thought to Ponder: These days, there is a lot of importance for the words that we speak. Small little words can make or break relationships. But, in order to bring impact through our words, we need to have positivity in our mind. When positive words are combined with a positive mind, it brings positive results in interaction and relationships.

Point to Practice: Today I will appreciate someone with love. I will encourage him with positive words. But before that I will take a thought of good wish for this person. Then, whatever I say will have power in it and thus will create a positive impact.

Thought of the day 27.09.2015

Let Go
Just as the bird has to find the courage to let go of the branch in order to fly, so we also must let go of our branches if we are to know the exhilaration of soaring to the highest potential of our life. The branches we hold to are our inner attachments - our beliefs, ideas and memories. And then there are the outer attachments - people, possessions, positions and privileges are a few. But as long as we hold on to them we will live in fear (of letting go and loss) and we will never be free. And just watch those birds, by letting go of one branch they are able to spend the rest of their life alighting on a million other branches, and they enjoy the view from each. Are you flying and soaring in your life, or are you stuck on one branch, cursing others as they fly past. Go on, try it ...let go!

Internal And External Attachments (Part 3)

Each time we attach ourselves to anything which is external or internal (we have mentioned some common examples of both types of attachments in the last two days’ messages), we create fears, amongst which the main one is the fear of loss of what I am attached to. The attachment not only gives rise to fear but also brings with it emotions like anger, ego, sadness, jealousy, greed, comparisons, hatred etc. All these emotions have their roots in attachment, which gives rise to insecurity.

Any type of attachment out of the ones mentioned in the last two days’ messages or some other is asanskar that is so deeply embedded inside us that it seems normal to us. It is just a sanskar but it has immense amount of power and it manages to imprison us completely, but most of the time we do not even realize we are imprisoned. The negative emotional states connected with this kind of attachment create a state of internal mental pressure or an inner emptiness and make us feel absolutely helpless at times. Over a period of many births, we have become so accustomed to these attachments and the various forms of suffering connected with it that we have started believing that these are an integral part of the human personality and human life since the beginning and are, therefore, natural. And so we continue with the sanskar and even keep strengthening it, never ever thinking that it should be removed. We do this with internal stress and unhappiness to the point that even our health gets affected adversely. The natural state of the self is free and not attached in this way to anything. Attachments, whether external or internal, are acquired at different points of time in birth-rebirth cycle and are not natural or there from the beginning. All the things mentioned in the last two days’ messages have existed from the beginning but attachment to them has not. The present suffering indicates to us that these types of attachments are something abnormal or not natural.

Message of the day

Positive thoughts save time.

Thought to Ponder: However hard I try to make plans to save time, unless I make a plan to organize my mind, I will continue to lose precious time with waste or negative thoughts. Even not following time schedules creates stress. So instead of focusing on organizing time, I need to save time, by using my thoughts well.

Point to Practice: Today I will keep a check on my thoughts. I will spend at least 15 minutes throughout the day with something that will keep my mind positive. And I will sustain this for a few days so that I start observing the difference it creates.

Thought of the day 26.09.2015

Higher Than the Sky

Keep wearing virtues as your ornaments. Keep loving others. Keep giving regard. You have to go beyond the stars. Keep thoughts higher than the sky, and abundance of patience like the earth. Keep spiritual love in your eyes.

Soul Sustenance

Internal And External Attachments (Part 2)

We had explained some common examples ofexternal attachments yesterday.

Some common examples of internal attachmentsare attachments to:

- your ideas,
- your beliefs,
- your opinions or viewpoints,
- your memories,
- a certain way of thinking
- a particular virtue/virtues or specialty/specialties,
- a particular power/powers,
- a particular sanskar/sanskars - either positive or negative, etc.

Whether the attachment is external or internal, the act of attaching is always internal. e.g. if you attach yourself to your job, you will say my job. Your job is something external, but you hold on to it inside you - inside your consciousness.

(To be continued tomorrow...)

Message of the day

True knowledge brings humility.

Expression: True knowledge inspires and encourages one to bring about a practical change in one's life. The one with knowledge naturally imbibes it, which is also revealed in his practical life, because he is humbly willing to learn from all situations. As much as there is knowledge, so much there is divinity revealed in all words and actions.

Experience: When I am able to humbly learn from all situations. I am able to enrich my own knowledge. This knowledge further enables me to become more and more practical. So during all difficult situations, I am able to remain light and internally stable. There will be no fluctuation experienced within, whatever the challenges may be.

Thought of the day 25.09.2015

Silence
It is when we silence the chattering of our mind that we can truly hear what is in our heart and find the still, clear purity that lies within the soul. Spiritual love carries us into the silence of our original state of being. This silence contains the power to create harmony in all relationships and the sweetness to sustain them.

Internal And External Attachments (Part 1)

Attachment can be on two levels - either internalor external.

Some common examples of external attachmentsare attachments to:

- people,
- objects,
- your physical body,
- your position or role in your family, society or in your professional field,
- money,
- places,
- physical comfort/comforts,
- the way you look or dress up or carry yourself or your physical personality in general,
- a particular skill/skills,
- a particular interest or hobby like watching movies, online social networking, etc.
- your routine or a certain way of working at home or at the workplace,
- respect from others,
- how people see you or behave with you or what they think of you, etc.

Message of the day

The power of thought has the power to create.

Thought to ponder: A seed sown and tended to, gives fruits in plenty. In the same way, the seed of a positive thought, when sustained from time to time, has the capacity to create. I find that instead of situations controlling me, I am able to be a master and control the situation with ease.

Point to practice: Today I will create a positive thought and sustain it throughout the day. Whatever else comes in my way to change this thought, I will not let it influence, but will continue to sustain this thought consciously. I need to start observing and appreciating small little positive results that I get with this practice.

I Am Peace (Part 3)

Meditation for mental peace is something we commonly hear nowadays and it is something which is being practiced by thousands of families and professionals nowadays to bring peace and calm in their minds as well as in their relationships. Some people do not realize the importance of looking inwards for maintaining peace and also the importance of methods like meditation for achieving that. But remember, a few minutes given to looking after the self everyday will make you powerful to face the growing number of situations which come at you from people in your family and at office. Meditation is not running away from society but is an easy technique of mastering the thought patterns of the mind and keeping them under control. To meditate is to create thoughts related to the self like – Who am I, What is my role in this world, What is my original stage when I came to play my part in the world, Do I perform positive actions throughout the day, Am I a being of peace and love, Do I come into contact with everyone with a positive consciousness, Do I satisfy God with my daily routine, Do I remain stable irrespective of what happens around me, Do I remain pure and peaceful in my interactions with others, etc.

These type of thoughts which are mentioned above and giving answers to the questions asked by the mind is a way of making the mind busy. This is the most basic type of meditation. Of course, as you go ahead with your meditation practice, you have to go from thoughts to pure experience. In pure experience, thoughts stop and the self just exists in a stage full of peace and no longer needs the support of thoughts but can stand on its own feet. The feet are a pure loveful connection with the Supreme or God which gives the self the beauty of experience. Experience means to just be peace and not necessarily create thoughts related to peace.

Message of the day

To use the treasure of thoughts well is to get richer with all other treasures.

Thought to ponder: The biggest treasure is the treasure of thoughts and all other treasures can be got on the basis of using this one treasure well. If I continue to think waste and negative, I will not be able to use other resources well. On the other hand, if I create positive, powerful thoughts, like iron that is without rust, I will be able to attract the magnet (all good things) towards myself. I become aware of my treasures and I find them growing too.

Point to practice: Today I will keep a balance of the account of my thoughts. I will keep checking from time to time the quality of my thoughts. If I find that thoughts are negative, waste or even ordinary; I will create a positive thought and sustain for it a minute at least.

Think Big

Rise above little things. Be a big thinker. You are what you think. So just think big, believe big, act big, dream big, work big, give big, laugh big, live big.

Soul Sustenance

I Am Peace (Part 2)

Peace inside is often reflected to the outside. Very often homes and offices which are more orderly, normally have people living and working inside them who are more peaceful. A less orderly place to stay and work in, increases our thought activity. People who are confused easily in difficult situations tend to also ignore their surroundings and prefer living in less orderly environments. So, inner peace and outer peace are connected with each other. Keeping both, the mind and the surroundings full of calmness by using subtle methods for the mind and physical methods for the surroundings makes you stronger inside and increases your ability to keep your thought activity to a minimum. This is required very regularly when there are different types of situations and while coming into contact with people of different personalities. Very often a big group of people in an office can be challenging to work with and can make people even have thoughts of leaving such a group of people permanently when they are not able to cope with different people and their demands. A calm mind, some say in an 8 hour work day at the office, with demanding deadlines and different people with their different ways of working and opinions is next to impossible. At the same time, for some, who have learnt to remain at ease in situations or who have learnt the habit of thinking less irrespective of whatever happens around them prefer working in groups and find it easy to be a part of a group. On the other hand, some lose hope and cannot bear the pressure of that and prefer living alone and with a few people.

A good leader will be good at managing people well but not at the cost of managing the self and coming under mental pressures, which are the main cause of negative thoughts. The positive thought activity of a good leader and his peaceful nature directly influences the quality of mind activity of the people whom the leader leads and makes them peaceful.

(To be continued tomorrow …)

Message of the day

Your humility enables people to realize their mistakes and correct themselves.

Thought to ponder: Real humility results in so much power of truth that you don't need to say anything at all in words. The very power of your inner state of being will make the other person realize the error of their ways.

Point to practice: When you are giving directions or corrections to someone, check your own attitude, remind yourself of the humility within and then say whatever you have to say. With humility your words will be for their benefit and this will enable them to learn.

Thought of the day 22.09.2015

                                 Deep Within
Just as the highest tower needs a deep foundation, so too our higher thinking is based on going deep within.

Soul Sustenance

I Am Peace (Part 1)

An important feature of lives of successful people is a mind which remains free of questions and always remains solution based. Very often, problems of the world shake up the mind and make you confused, leading to negative results in life’s situations and also harming relationships with people. Ideally, people around us remain content with us when our mind is relaxed and free from any mental disturbances. A very important habit that we should choose to make a part of our personality is the ability to give a brake to our thoughts of fear and anxiety in any type of situation and instead create thoughts of determination and surety of success so that even negative situations bring about positive results. Thoughts increase when negative situations come close to us and have an impact on our minds. So, in such situations, first of all realizing that any such situation has a hidden benefit inside it which we cannot see and also being sure that the hidden benefit will be visible very soon, is the method of remaining peaceful and calm. That means a mind with few thoughts and an intellect free of questions.

Do you know the original state of the soul, when it stayed in the soul world, was completely thoughtless? As it came down in the world and took one birth one after the other, the number of thoughts inside it started increasing. At the same time, the different types of situations surrounding it also increased slowly, showing how a mind without peace attracted peacelessness on an external level. The confusion in the world today is nothing but a reflection of the nature of human minds which are extremely peaceless, to the extent that even a 6-7 hours night of sleep is difficult for some to experience at times.

(To be continued tomorrow …)

Message of the day

The power of determination makes possible, even what is impossible.

Thought to ponder: Determination is to keep on trying till what I want to achieve, happens. If I am caught up in a maze, I need to try every way there is to come out. If I try one or two ways and give up, there is a likely chance that I will never find my way out. Determination brings the power to make things happen, even those things which seem impossible.

Point to practice: Today I will make a firm promise to myself to take up something that I had always wanted to do. I will tell myself repeatedly that I can do it and will achieve. I will continue to sustain this with the waters of my determination till I see the fruit of it - even if it is one small result.

Changing Your Belief System To Overcome Feelings Of Revenge (Part 2)

The urge for revenge and the false taste of victory or happiness related to it can only end when the belief, that others are responsible for what you feel, is seen as a false one. Only when you take full responsibility for whatever thoughts and feelings you create will it be possible to end the anger and the hatred that seeks revenge. When someone hurts me, I create a negative image of myself and the other person in my mind’s eye, in different ways. I see myself and the other in a negative light, myself as a victim and the other person as a victimizer. I need to stop doing that and see myself and the other in a positive light, in the same light as before, irrespective of the negativity that the other has radiated to me. When we do that, we will stop pointing the finger at others for whatever hurt we may feel. Only when it is fully seen and accepted that someone can hurt or harm my vehicle, the physical body, but not me, the controller or driver of the vehicle, will rage and the desire for revenge stop existing inside my consciousness.

When I start seeing the person who has committed some negative action which is projected towards me, with an innocent, unbiased, untarnished vision, hatred will be transformed into love and compassion for both, me and the other person. Then it will be possible to be totally free of all judgment, criticism and any desire to seek justice and take pleasure and experience victory when justice is delivered. Only then will it be possible to rediscover true happiness in life, because as long as there is even the slightest trace of an urge to seek revenge for what someone has done to me, and the desire to experience the false happiness which is experienced when such revenge is delivered; both of which, the happiness and the revenge, are forms of subtle violence; true everlasting and deep peace, contentment and happiness can never be experienced.

Message of the day

To admire is to take inspiration to imbibe qualities.

Thought to Ponder: True admiration and a true compliment is trying to appreciate and imbibe some quality on the basis of which the person achieved success. An attempt towards this, colors me positively as I start observing and imbibing positive qualities.

Point to Practice: Today I will not compare with others. I will not lead myself to a belief that I cannot achieve what he did. I will also not get into a feeling of jealousy. Instead, I will see what I can learn and practice in my own life that I observed in the other person.

Accountability

I am never exempt from personal accountability.  I Hear, I Choose, I Decide, I Act.

Changing Your Belief System To Overcome Feelings Of Revenge (Part 1)

It’s worth wondering, what I need to change inside my belief system so that no feelings of revenge exist inside me for anyone irrespective of what someone has done to me. When someone harms me or insults me in any way, what is the belief that exists inside my inherent belief system that causes feelings of revenge to emerge inside me in the first place? It is the belief that whenever someone does something negative to me, he hurts me, he is the victimizer and I am a victim. I need to change that to – no one can never hurt me, but it’s what I do with someone’s negative actions, what shape I give the negative actions inside my mind, that causes me hurt, the choice lies with me.

Two people will do two different things inside their minds with the offensive or negative actions of a particular person – one will create feelings of anger, hatred, sorrow, etc which will give rise to the desire for revenge; the other will create feelings of peace, love and good wishes which will give rise to only forgiveness, with no room for revenge. In other words, two different people will respond in two different ways to the negativity of the so called victimizer, depending on their belief system, their inherent personality or nature, their experience of similar negative actions in the past, either committed by the same person or by other people. All these factors will shape their perception of the other’s actions and the self. One will see the other or perceive the other as the victimizer and himself as a victim and another will not identify the other person with his negative actions, but will instead focus on his inherent positive nature or positive aspects of his current personality and will also remain unaffected himself.

(To be continued tomorrow …)

Message of the day

To use treasures in a worthwhile way is to be content.

Thought to Ponder: We are all endowed with a lot of treasures. Treasures like our specialties, our time, our good wishes, our encouraging words are in our access. Without using these treasures, if we ask God for more, or expect from others, it is difficult to get them. When we start using what we have in a worthwhile way, we find these and other treasures increase automatically.

Point to Practice: Today I will remind myself of any one specialty of mine and make a conscious attempt to use it in my day to day activities. I will remind myself of this, from time to time, and use it consciously whenever I can. When I am busy using my own inner treasure, I will not only be content, but also start achieving success in all I do.

Smiling Opens the Heart
Good feelings for others are like ointments that heal wounds and re-establish friendships and relationships. Good feelings are generated in the mind, are transmitted through your attitude and are reflected in your eyes and smile. Smiling opens the heart and a glance can make miracles happen.

Providing Emotional Support To Your Loved Ones

What do we do when friends and loved ones come to us for, and expect emotional support from us? Spirituality teaches us the right technique of providing emotional support – the technique of detached involvement, which is the technique of not being overawed, of not being affected ourselves by the emotions of others. If a friend, colleague or any loved one is upset and we also get upset (because we love them – that’s what we normally say), we cannot provide them the necessary support or the assistance to see why they are reacting emotionally and how they might change the nature of their emotions by themselves. True love for someone would mean that I am able to provide them that. While being concerned is fine, but by becoming upset, seeing them upset simply aggravates the situation and adds fuel to their fire.

By remaining detached, we can be more effective in our ability to care, listen and help them think clearly about the situation, they find themselves in. Only if we are stable, and that can happen only when we are detached, will we be able to provide them stability. We can encourage and empower them to change their negative reaction to a more positive response, and thereby generate a healthier energy. If we become over-involved in someone else's problems, there is a risk that our own judgment will be affected negatively. This is why making decisions and choices under the influence of your own and others' emotions is normally ineffective.

Message of the day

To be cheerful is to contribute to others.

Thought to Ponder: When I am happy, that happiness is reflected in my face. This becomes a means of help for many others. There are a lot of people today, who are going through their own situations and are looking for some support or help. The biggest help that we can extend is to spread the warmth of happiness. Situations continue to be there. But, with happiness comes hope and a willingness to work towards making things better.

Point to Practice: Today I will make someone happy. Whether I am able to overcome my own situations or not, I will make a special attempt to bring happiness and hope to someone around me. It could be for a colleague, an acquaintance or even a family member.

Thought of the day 18.09.2015

State of Bliss

Desires will never end but our sense organs will be worn out. The state of Bliss cannot be experienced by a wandering mind seeking sensuous pleasures. It can be achieved by self-knowledge, self-realisation and yoga with the Supreme.

Soul Sustenance

The one with zeal and enthusiasm is constantly tireless.

Expression: Zeal and enthusiasm brings the willingness to move forward under all circumstances. Never are there are any excuses given, whatever the difficult situations or challenges that one might be faced with. Instead whatever has to be done is done without any tiredness. Also the best is made out of all situations.

Experience: When I am able to be enthusiastic under all circumstances, I am able to be tireless. This tirelessness gives me the courage to move on and experience constant success. I become aware of my own resources and make the best use of them. So I also experience internal progress, constantly.

Message of the day

The biggest service is to rectify that which has gone wrong.

Thought to Ponder: When we see that something goes wrong, instead of getting affected with it, we need to find a way to make the situation better. If we are affected and colored by the negativity, we can do nothing to change it. But if we watch with detachment, we will be able to get the right solution for the problem at hand. In this way, we can help the other person to make the situation better.

Point to Practice: Today I will see every scene that comes my way with detachment. Even if something goes wrong, I will make sure I will first check my state of mind if I am able to remain unaffected. I will then find the best possible solution for it.

Thought of the day 17.09.2015

Weaknesses

If I keep the weaknesses of others in my mind, they soon become a part of me.

Soul Sustenance

Mental Churning And Its Benefits (Part 3)

Whenever you start the day, create a few positive thoughts in your mind. Go for a walk or get ready for the day, keeping these thoughts and thinking about them. Also, ensure that before you do that, you read something which will fill your mind with positive thoughts. Remember, if an empty mind tries to think positive and create positive thoughts, it tires easily and in fact feels stressed. Try one day creating positive thoughts after filling your mind with positive information and the next day create positive thoughts when your mind is completely blank and see the difference. The energy and enthusiasm which you feel inside yourself after thinking deeply with a mind full of positive thoughts is much more than with an empty mind.

This can be compared with the process of churning cream to get butter. If you try and churn an empty vessel without cream, will you get butter or if you try and churn a vessel partially filled with cream, will you get butter of a high quality? On the other hand, you will experience tiredness. In the same way, when you have information in the mind, you build on it and multiply the positive information by adding new perspectives, view points and angles to the knowledge. This is called churning of knowledge to create the butter of spiritual power. So, always remember to backup positive affirmations in your mind with lots of extra information which is like a cushion on which you rest and play with the points of knowledge. It is like throwing a ball in a closed room and letting it bounce from wall to wall. In the same way, churning knowledge is not simply repeating what you have read but creating a movement of the knowledge inside the room of your mind and experiencing happiness as a result of that. Such an exercise, when done over many days, creates soul power and strengthens our mind. In fact, it makes us extremely positive and free from negative and unnecessary thoughts that waste our mental energy when indulged in repeatedly.

Thought of the day 16.09.2015

Wisdom
To do the right thing: Think and then Act, rather than the other way around.  Wisdom is to know when to act and when not to.

Soul Sustenance

Mental Churning And Its Benefits (Part 2)

A beautiful mind leads to a beautiful personality which shows itself through our thoughts, words and actions. So taking utmost care of the mind in the early morning hours is extremely important because the absorption capacity of the mind at that time is very high and giving instructions to it in the form of thoughts based on the soul and the Supreme Soul makes the mind soul-conscious and this is a training to the mind to keep its remembrance oriented towards the soul i.e. its own spiritual self and the Father of the spiritual self, who is God, the entire day after that.

At any point of time on any particular day, if you have had a bad day, you could check how the start of that particular day was and you will realize that a bad start of the day very often leads to the remaining day being spent negatively. Also, a day which started positively in the company of your loved ones or a day which started by hearing a good piece of news or imbibing positive information or by watching a good program of spirituality on television will normally be spent positively whereas a day which started with watching or listening to negative news on the TV of accidents, death and violence or by reading a negative piece of information or with an argument with someone will be followed by a day with negative events. Why is this so? The thoughts are given shape in the morning and they act accordingly in the day after that. Also, the thoughts inside the mind in the night, before sleeping, have an influence on the state of mind the next morning and that in turn affects the whole day and is carried inside till the night. So, it is a cyclic process and to keep the cycle positive, the start has to be made every morning. As they say - as the food, so the mind i.e. physical food eaten of a good spiritual feel or positive energy level orsaatvik in nature influences the mind positively. On the other hand, food eaten of low energy levels ortamsic in nature will influence the mind negatively. That holds true for physical food eaten by us. In the same way, food for thought, as they say i.e. the quality of our thoughts also influences our state of mind and complete inner state and how we feel.
